CODING COACH

A great entry point to start your education/technology career

Role Type: CasualAvailability:School holidays and After School Shifts available.

Start Date: As soon as practical

Days Required: Tuesday 3 pm - 6 pm and Friday 3 pm - 6 pm.

Suitable for: CS/IT undergraduates

We're looking for a casual Learning Coach to assist us with school holiday camps and after-school classes.

- A fun and rewarding role.

- Full training provided.

The Skill Samurai Learning coach is responsible for:
- Understanding and executing procedures of the Skill Samurai franchise (e.g. opening, closing and learning centre presentation).

- Preparation of classroom before lessons.

- Ability to lead a group of young children (ages 6-16).

- Communicate effectively with students, parents and other team members.

- Be able to explain Computer Science and Maths concepts effectively. Lesson Plans and training provided.

- Delivering a high standard of care and education to all students

- Attend paid staff meetings and professional development (training).

Characteristics and qualifications
- A background in Coding, ideally block coding, java, python (No tertiary qualifications required).

- Experience in, or a keen interest in coaching and teaching children.

- Ability to connect and communicate with parents on their child’s learning

- Accept direction, supervision and constructive criticism

- Ability to possess a high degree of professionalism (Appearance, dress, communication)

- Ability to establish effective relationships with parents and children

- Have an understanding of computer science and the curriculum

- Able to multi-task

Hourly Rate: Misc. Award MA000104. Above award rates offered to high performing candidates.

Days Required: Tuesday - 3 pm - 6 pm and Friday 3 pm - 6 pm. School Holiday shifts would also be available.

Working with Children Check required. This can be obtained if your are successful, you don't need it to apply.
