On Sunday 27 September, SOAK presents The Tide That Brought You In, an evening of music built around gratitude for the people, places and ancestors that carried us here.

Celebrating Newcastle’s thriving jazz culture, the night brings together virtuoso players Grace Aberhart, Sophie Hawthorne, Freyja Garbett and Steph Russell, alongside special guests from R&B, blues, industrial rock and soul.

Featuring Gambirra, The Illume Girls, Jayden Kitchener-Waters, Vienna LaPalma McVernon (Ponzi Scheme), Saylor (Saylor and the Flavor) and Pa777ience.

Matt looks back on one of the biggest surprises from the first SOAK: Live at the Baths, just how many people wanted to come together for live music at Newcastle’s iconic Ocean Baths.

From not knowing what the turnout would be, to seeing thousands of people arrive on opening night for local legends dust… it was pretty special.

And this year, SOAK is back ❤️

We're just over two weeks out from the opening night of this years series! Here's a bit of a rundown of what you can look forward to:

For curator Tim Levinson aka Urthboy, SOAK is friends gathering after a busy day, families jumping into the Baths, picnics, important music and most importantly a cultural experience that’s completely free.

Sunshine and the most delicious pick me up 🥰✨
