๐ Celebrating 60 years ๐ on 11th and 12 September with Free Open Days. Wander through the museum & celebrate the history of the Casino and District Historical Society ๐107.9fm
This year we proudly celebrate 60 years since the Casino and District Historical Society was opened.
What began in 1965 through the dedication of Casino High School teachers Mr Maurice Ryan, Mr E Quinn and Mr Bill Woods, and the support of the local community at a public meeting chaired by Mayor Mr Richmond Manyweathers, has grown into an important part of preserving and sharing our districtโs history.
In March 1966, the museum first opened to visitors in the old Domestic Science building at the former Casino High School, now Casino Public School. Six decades later, we continue to honour the people, places and stories that have shaped Casino and the surrounding district.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed, volunteered, visited and supported the Society over the past 60 years.
Join us on 11th and 12 September for our Free Open Days and wander through the museum to celebrate our history.
