NEWS FROM THE BOM TODAY, RE THE CASTERTON WEATHER STATION:

"The Bureau of Meteorology is aware the temperature and humidity measuring system of the Casterton Weather Station (Station Number 090192) experienced an unexpected failure on 26 June 2025.

"The cause of the fault is unrelated to the previous rainfall issue.

Bureau technicians are investigating and a site visit to resolve the issue is scheduled. Temperature and humidity data will remain off until the issue is resolved."

CN was further advised: "The site visit will take place in the coming weeks."

Edgarley - Book Launch Postponed.

It is unfortunate, but due to the current COVID outbreak we will have to postpone the Book Launch that was scheduled for this Friday 4th July.

After two queries today - one when my phone was out of service - I hope posting here will be helpful, as I will be out of phone range for much of tomorrow as well.
If anyone would like to post notices in the Casterton News classifieds for Tuesday's edition, there a couple of ways to do this:
- text the wording, along with your name - and please include your phone number in the text - to 0466 681 337.
- write out your message, include your name and phone number and drop it in the mailbox at the office (74 Henty St)
- email [email protected] and include your name and phone number.
Classies close at 9.30am Monday, but any that can be in by tomorrow afternoon would be greatly appreciated.
My sincerest condolences to the families and friends of those we have lost over the past few weeks.
