We are so proud of MainFM presenters Lucy Armstrong and Kya Moore of The Upshot. Together they have produced a special radio series called The Pause - a powerful and engaging new podcast series that shines a light on the journey through
menopause.
Inspired by their own experiences and conversations with friends and community members, Lucy and Kya wanted to create a platform where local stories could be shared, myths could be dispelled, and support could be amplified. Recognizing the isolation many feel and the significant gaps in research and public discourse, The Pause wanted to share information
about local support available, normalise conversation and to build solidarity in the community.
The series features interviews with local health practitioners, experts, and passionate advocates who are making a difference in the menopause space. From laugh-out-loud moments to deeply moving personal accounts, the stories shared are as diverse as they are impactful. A community questionnaire also received an enthusiastic response, which has greatly informed the direction of the series.
The Pause explores the challenges and celebrates the strengths of this transitional phase. Its aim is to empower not only those experiencing menopause but also to bring families,
friends, and colleagues into the conversation.
