🌸 Blooming in the Bush at the Towers Jockey Club🌸

A fantastic turnout for the 2026 Rural Women Unite Ladies Luncheon, held today at the Towers Jockey Club.

Themed ‘Blooming in the Bush’, the event brought women from across the region together for lunch, entertainment, shopping, fundraising and plenty of good company.

Guest speaker Gayle Shann also shared her story with the crowd as part of a wonderful afternoon celebrating rural and regional women.

First responders arrived on the scene at 2:40 am today in response to a fire at St Paul’s Thrift Shop.

The direct area has experienced power outages.

The direct area in Gill Street was subsequently blocked off.

Although there was structural damage, first responders were able to prevent further complications.

Charters Towers is one of the stops for Team USA and Team New Zealand Youth Rodeo competitors currently touring Australia‼️🐴

The teams will be joined by Team Australia to take part in The Youth Rodeo Organisation International Challenge, hosted by North Queensland Elite Rodeo in Townsville.

Charters Towers was selected as a tour stop for its strong rural character and local history ✨
