What does it mean to lead in a world of complexity, fragmentation and disruption?

Day one of the PROI APAC Regional Summit in Cebu opened with a powerful moment of connection and honest reflection. To meet the challenges of our times, and to participate in a network of peers, authenticity is the only place to start. Questions like what's really stumped us this year, and what has been the best lesson we've learned this year surfaced some shared pain points and some actionable ways to move forward.

Making the most of gathering in person, an improvisation session reminded us that being present — and human — is a strategic advantage.

Gearing up for the theme of the Summit, "Disrupting ourselves, the agency evolution imperative", regional leaders will grapple with erosion of trust, proliferation of tech solutions and opportunities for transformation.

The social impact landscape is shifting - and fast!

We're all grappling with enormous challenges right now: climate, inequality, AI, funding pressures, and measurement fatigue. The signals are clear, and the momentum is building around new ways of thinking and working.

Ready to unpack what these realities mean for your strategy next year?

Join us for the next Social Impact Summit Quarterly, a free virtual event, where we launch the ImpactInstitute 2025 State of Social Impact Report.

We’ll explore the key insights shaping the sector, including:

💡 The three nation-shaping trends influencing impact work across all sectors.
💡 How organisations are shifting from crisis response to systems change.
💡 What’s emerging in impact measurement, funding, and leadership.

We are thrilled to be joined by special guest and collaborator, Cressida Gaukroger. Cressida focuses on working with governments across Australia to embed wellbeing at the heart of decision-making, utilising systems change and advanced wellbeing approaches in public policy.

Whether you're leading strategy, delivering programs, or influencing policy, this session will help you sharpen your focus, challenge assumptions, and contribute to the conversations shaping the future of our sector.

Inclusive employment is gaining momentum and WorkAbility is helping drive it forward.

Across Australia, organisations are rethinking how they recruit, train and support people with disability. At WorkAbility Expo, employers like McDonald’s Australia are sharing how they’re building meaningful pathways for people to thrive - not just talking about inclusion, but putting it into practice.

WorkAbility connects inclusive employers with people who are ready to work and showcases what’s already working. The momentum is growing, but we need more organisations to get involved.

Because when inclusion is built in, everyone benefits.

👉 Join the virtual WorkAbility Expo to see inclusive employment in action and explore how your organisation can take the next step, wherever you're based.

WorkAbility is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

If your brand message isn’t earning trust, it’s just noise.

At our latest Storytelling for Impact event, we explored a challenge many purpose-driven organisations face: how to turn internal insights into media stories that build credibility, not just visibility.

The media isn’t looking for marketing copy - they want stories that are timely, evidence-based, and connected to real change. That means your impact data isn’t just a reporting tool. It’s a storytelling goldmine.

If you missed the event, you can catch up via the blog - including a practical framework for translating brand message into media impact:

Purpose is a practice — not a position.

That was the spirit behind last week’s ImpactLab Masterclasses in Melbourne. Led by Mark, Royden and Niall, the sessions brought together purpose-driven leaders for a day of practical tools, shared learning and honest dialogue.

These weren’t lectures. They were hands-on, real-world workshops designed to help leaders lead with clarity and confidence — whether they were just starting out or ramping up.

People walked away with a feeling of connection, momentum, and a renewed sense of what’s possible when we lead with purpose.

Thanks to everyone who joined us. If you’re ready to keep the conversation going, we’ll see you in Sydney on 16 October. Limited spots remain!

🏆 We’ve been shortlisted for ALL THREE categories we entered in the CPRA Golden Target Awards!

Media Relations Campaign
Not-for-Profit Campaign
Public Affairs and Advocacy Campaign

This recognition celebrates our work with the National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) a campaign that turned local advocacy into national impact.

When Australia’s fastest-growing communities needed a voice in the lead-up to the federal election, it was a moment to drive real change.

From strategic media relations to bold advocacy and purpose-driven storytelling, we helped NGAA cut through the noise and influence policy commitments.

The impact?

✅ 1,000+ items of coverage
✅ Helped NGAA secure meetings with seven federal and opposition ministers
✅ Elevated NGAA’s voice as a leading advocate for outer urban communities

Sydney WorkAbility Expo 2025 is almost here — and you’re invited! ✨

Every day, talented jobseekers with disability are overlooked — not because they lack skills, but because outdated perceptions still linger. As Reggie Sorensen puts it:

“No one wants to hire someone who is vision impaired — I’m just like everybody else.”

That’s exactly why WorkAbility exists — to challenge those mindsets and open doors.

🗓️ Join us on Friday 8 August at Sydney Olympic Park for a full-day event that brings inclusive employers and jobseekers of all abilities together.

In the Employer Lounge, you’ll have the chance to meet face-to-face with organisations that are actively hiring and leading the way in inclusive employment — including Amazon, PwC, McDonald’s, Medibank, Nestlé, Transport for NSW, Inner West Council, Capgemini, Randstad, Busways, Cater Care, Hotel Etico, NDIA, and Nutricia Australia.

Whether you're:
💡Looking for your next opportunity,
💡Supporting someone into work,
💡Or building a more inclusive team..

WorkAbility is for you.

🔗 Register now and be part of the movement: https://lnkd.in/gQmATEJK

Let’s change the way we see disability and employment - together.
