The magic that was 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣

Last year we worked so hard to bring our vision of life on the road to reality. We sold everything we owned and said goodbye to the people we love, the safety of a house and a stable income.

Behind the highlights so many tough decisions, honest conversations & sacrifices were made. First few months traveling full time nearly broke us, then built us back stronger, more aligned and connected than ever before.

So thankful for the lessons 2025 taught us.
So proud of the life we’ve created and the memories we’ve made so far.

This year, we are going to do it better by doing less. Slower pace, longer stops, doing/seeing/stressing/planning less and being present with each other more.

That’s the intention…let’s see how it goes 🤪

Thank you 2025 & we can’t wait to see what 2026 brigs!

Some incredible Silo Art that deserves a spot on this feed:

🚂 Farrel Flat, SA
The artwork depicts RX 55, the steam locomotive which hauled the last passenger train to travel through this town at closing of passenger service in 1986.

No filters needed 🩷 Pink lake Bumbunga

📍 Lochiel, SA

Fun facts:

💜The pink colour comes from salt loving algae.

🐍Before the Loch Eel became a fun tourist attraction, its local legend originated back in 1880s with tales of bullocks teams crossing the lake and disappearing into the boggy sand said to be pulled there by the lake monster.

🖤 Lake is often dry enough to walk out onto salt pans but be ware of the black and muddy underlayer. Don’t wear shoes you don’t want to get dirty.

⌚️ Best time to visit for the most vibrant colours: March-May, September-November.

Free camp with a view that good - what more can you ask for?! 😍

📍 Lake Hart, Woomera, SA

Many other travelers pulled up to take a pic and kept driving or didn’t bother stopping at all. So we had the whole place to ourselves for the evening.

No amenities, so you have to be self sufficient but picnic tables and rubbish bins are provided. Plus a big information sign about the history of the region and different trails in the names of the famous explorers that you can follow.

Hot tip: Wear sunnies when going out to the lake - the salt is that reflective of the sun - it may hurt your eyes 👀

The Centre of the Centre of Australia 🇦🇺

📍 Erldunda, Ghan, NT

The last stopover in NT before crossing the border into SA and the perfect place to discard of your fruit & veggies without throwing them into a quarantine bin 👌🏻

The local residents - an enclosure full of friendly emus and Carlotta the Camel will happily eat prohibited food items 🍎 🥕 🍊

Amenities include toilets, showers and laundry. Powered and unpowered sites. Freshly re-built playground, a pool, a tavern & the largest selection of souvenirs we’ve seen in an outback roadhouse.

Bonus: Speccy view from the Sunset Deck 🌅 & relatively reasonable fuel prices.
