Please head to www.ocrfm.org.au for more info. OCR FM is a community radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 98.3FM Colac and District and 88.7FM along the coast. We began broadcasting in 1991 as Colac Public Radio and our license (3OCR) has expanded to include the Otways and across South West Victoria. The station is manned entirely by volunteers, from presenters right thro

ugh to management. Our programming consists of a variety of specialist music programs such as rock, country, folk and comedy, to information programs, sports and access programs for the print handicapped.

We rely on membership from community members, donations and sponsorship (advertising) from local businesses to assist with the running of the station. Couldn’t agree more!

We’ve always known community broadcasting makes a huge difference in communities across Australia. Now, new independent research has put a value on that impact!

The first Social Return on Investment analysis of community broadcasting has found our sector creates at least $485 million in social value every year, with at least $7.59 in social value generated for every $1 invested.

And it’s listeners who experience the greatest benefit, through improved wellbeing, stronger social connections, greater community participation and an increased sense of belonging.

Read the research at https://www.cbaa.org.au/community-broadcasting/research-publications-redirect/social-return-investment-community-broadcasting

The research is also significant for the collaboration behind it. Independently evaluated by Think Impact, it assessed the social value created through community radio services represented by Christian Media & Arts Australia, Disability Media Australia, Multicultural Voices Australia (formerly National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters' Council) and First Nations Media Australia with funding from the Community Broadcasting Foundation and support from the CBAA.

💗 What an incredible result for our Dignity Drive! 💗

We are incredibly proud to share that, together with our amazing local community, we collected 300 packs during our Dignity Drive in August! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who generously dropped off a pack in our pink Share the Dignity boxes at Woolworths and Blooms The Chemist

In total, we collected 300 packs of pads, tampons and reusable period products, which will be delivered directly to local charities supporting women and girls doing it tough.

Every donation makes a difference, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible. 💕

Lyn's boot is so full of product.
Thank you for helping us support dignity, kindness and our local community. 🌸
