Colac Otway Shire Council Launches Opportunity for Businesses on Digital Visitor Kiosks

Council is inviting local visitor economy businesses to apply to be a part of the Shire’s new digital wayfinding kiosks. The digital kiosks, funded by the Victorian Government to support the visitor economy, provide a modern, highly visible platform to promote local businesses and attractions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The kiosks are located at Memorial Square, Colac Unearthed with a third screen soon to be introduced in Apollo Bay.

Council’s General Manager Community and Economy Ian Seuren said having a presence on the digital kiosks is a valuable opportunity for local businesses.

“The kiosks are located in highly visited, central areas and can be accessed any time of day or night, providing an excellent opportunity for businesses to increase visibility and connect with visitors and the community,” he said.
“It’s free to showcase your business as a part of what Colac Otway has to offer visitors. The digital kiosks are designed to support businesses and experiences that contribute to the local visitor economy.”

To be eligible, businesses must demonstrate a clear connection to visitor activity. This includes providing products, services or experiences that are likely to be used by visitors to the region, with operating hours that align to visitor demand, including evenings, weekends and peak tourism periods. Priority will be given to businesses that enhance the visitor experience and support Colac Otway’s appeal as a destination.

Eligible businesses are invited to submit their information via an online form to take advantage of this opportunity and help contribute to a vibrant, connected visitor economy. The form is available at https://www.colacotway.vic.gov.au/Business-investment/Business-Support-Service-Permits/Digital-Wayfinding-Signs. Business applications will be assessed to ensure featured content aligns with the purpose of promoting Colac Otway as a visitor destination.

For further information and support, please contact Council’s Economy and Creative Industries team on [email protected] or phone (03) 5232 9400.

Our Wasted Talent Show featured a very varied selection of performers. From first timers to seasoned veterans, we had storytellers, dancers, singers, comedians, musicians and more. Thankyou to everyone who had the courage to get up and perform, and to the very supportive audience.
Massive thanks to Tilnak Fine Art Portraits, Hulms Bakery Colac and Rosemary Goodall for the prize donations.

DONATIONS ARE OPEN!!!

Over the last year we have distributed mountains of tents and accompanying gear to people in need throughout our Region and then across the State through the Salvos Material Aid Centre.
And because of that, we are nearly out of tents!

The community needs your help!
If you have an unused tent sitting in your garden shed or feel your tent could get a lot more use somewhere else, then we can help rehome it to those doing it tough.

You can donate tents, sleeping bags or other relevant gear at the Salvos Community Centre in Dennis Street and to the amazing Team at Get Lost Outdoors on Murray Street.

Recycle to rehome your tents to those doing it tough.
