On the National NAIDOC Week edition of The Afterglow Radio Show, Lyndelle welcomed Naarm-based Noongar artist BUMPY, who has just released her latest single 'Maambakoort'. In the song, she reflects on the powerful yet dramatic way she felt when entering the saltwater of her Nanny’s country.

Awarded the First Nations Artist Residency at last year’s Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Bumpy is an established First Nations artist with powerful roots and an undeniably bright future.

Tomorrow July 17 at 9:30am, The Maes bring contemporary folk, lush harmonies and acoustic mastery to the studio with a few live tracks followed by an interview with Lauren on Down By The River.

Born in Victoria, the sisters were raised with a melting pot of music from around the world that washed up on stolen land. With echoes of Gillian Welch and The Waifs, there is a timeless luminescence and simplicity to the sound of Maggie and Elsie Rigby.

This week's PBS Feature Album is Welcome Back, the full-length debut album by Naarm-based tripwave outfit Fade Evare.

Centred around the brother-sister partnership of Mira Holleman and Tori Holleman (Retiree), Fade Evare rests on the push and pull of the siblings’ respective musical journeys, with Mira’s starry-eyed youthfulness complementing Tori’s quietly assured, tasteful production. Rounded out by keyboardist Madeleine Magee Carr, the band's debut LP is suffused with lush, layered electronic soundscapes, celebrating the tight-knit community bonds they have built.

ICYMI, Robbie Thorpe just joined DJ Ethan Manchild and guest announcer Zvi Belling for a special National NAIDOC Week feature interview on The Breakdown today.

Krautungalung (Gunai)/Gunditjmara Elder, Uncle Robbie Thorpe is an Aboriginal political activist, community leader and presenter of Bunjil's Fire, a program on fellow community radio station 3CR Community Radio in Naarm. In his program, Robbie presents not only the very best Blak music in the country, but a critical analysis of current Aboriginal affairs and the ongoing political movement for land rights, treaty, sovereignty and cessation of genocide.

We are honoured to have Uncle Robbie enter the PBS studios this afternoon, in conversation with DJ Manchild and Zvi Belling about 'Our Warrior: The Story of Robbie Thorpe', a new documentary following his life's work. For more info on the project and future screenings, head to ourwarriordoco.com/.

Strawberry Fields has captured the hearts of thousands once again, with the festival nearing a complete sell-out prior to announcing this year's lineup. Final tix will be made available to the public 9am this Friday!

The festival has unveiled a stacked 2025 lineup, with no shortage of exceptional local and international talent for attendees to experience on Yorta Yorta Country in their home of Tocumwal. Featuring over 80 DJs and live acts across the weekend, plus a full program of art, performance and workshops still to be announced, this year's edition is shaping up to be a triumphant follow-on from their sellout 15 year anniversary in 2024.

Those lucky enough to secure tickets can bank on having no shortage of global talent and heavy-hitters to indulge in, with iconic sets expected from Detroit Love ft. Carl Craig & Moodymann, genre-defying and jazz aficionado Gilles Peterson, deep house duo Chaos in the CBD, and UK underground force Interplanetary Criminal. They will be joined by rave revivalist Tommy Holohan, dance-floor shapeshifters Malugi, Lady Shaka and ISAbella, plus many more heavy-hitters.
