What a year it’s been at Coolum Business & Tourism! As we wrap up 2025, we’re taking some time to pause, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.
We’re excited to return in 2026 with plenty planned for our business community.

What you'll be doing
· Providing administrative support to the operations team, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence
· Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of operational processes and procedures
· Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve issues
· Providing support for special projects and initiatives as needed
What we're looking for
· Previous experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a customer-facing environment
· Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems
· A keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset
· Flexible and adaptable, with a positive and proactive attitude

🐾 Pawsitive news for Coolum dog lovers! 🐾
Sunshine Coast Council has officially adopted its new Dog Exercise Area Regional Plan and thanks to strong community feedback, Stumers Creek will remain off-leash 🐶❤️
We’re pleased to see Council recognise what locals already know: Stumers Creek is a cherished part of Coolum life, and keeping it off-leash supports community connection, healthy lifestyles and responsible dog ownership.
Cr Maria Suarez, Division 9 said the plan strikes an important balance between protecting our sensitive coastal environment and ensuring dog owners continue to enjoy generous access to outdoor spaces across a region with more than 54,000 registered dogs.
Here’s what’s changing at Stumers Creek:
✔️ The much-loved off-leash beach zone (3km north and south of the creek) stays exactly the same
✔️ For improved safety, dogs will now need to be on-leash until they’re 10 metres beachside of the carpark
✔️ No other changes – the unique character of Stumers is protected
More broadly, the new plan sets a vision for 22 new dog parks over the next 20 years and clearer, safer off-leash areas across the Coast. Changes will start rolling out in 2026.

Founded in 1997 as the Coolum Chamber of Commerce, the organisation was rebranded to Coolum Business and Tourism in 2009 to better reflect the emerging importance of tourism within the region’s business community.
Comprising a passionate group of volunteers from a cross-section of industries, Coolum Business and Tourism acts as custodian of the broader Coolum region by providing a united voice for local business.
The organisation aims to foster economic growth and protect and promote the unique characteristics that make Coolum such an appealing place to live, work and visit.
Coolum Business and Tourism nurtures productive partnerships with representatives of key local political, business and community stakeholders in lobbying and advocating for the best possible outcome for business in the region. This includes the areas of planning, infrastructure, employment, event management and opportunities for business advancement.
The organisation’s ultimate aim is to drive support for local business in the community which in turn will protect local industry and jobs and create a diverse and sustainable economy.
