“It seems obvious but it’s not always as simple as it seems.
There will be the obvious visible signs of favouring their head in one direction.

You may also notice;
- breastfeeding challenges on one side or if bottle feeding, bub needing to be held in a specific position every time
- discomfort being put down and wanting to be held a lot
- strong dislike for sidelying
- always looking in the same direction (on the floor, in a bouncer, on your shoulder)
- tight muscles and increased creases on one side of the neck or around the front of the neck
- uneven weight bearing through their arms, or strong dislike during tummy time
- tight through the shoulders (this may present as crying when getting them dressed, moving them around, tummy time, picking them up
- flat spots, or plagiocephaly, of their head
The habitual build of muscle tension can lead to a delay or disruption in milestones due to the extra effort and neurological demands required to create ease filled movement in the body.

Development in the first year of life is firmly dependant on a balance of release of tension and use of strengthening based activities (open play especially - they know what to do!) in order to reach their developmental achievements with ease.”
