The amenities block in Tickle Park has been vandalised for the second time in as many months with early morning walkers noticing the vandalism on the morning of Friday, September 25.

Two cubicles had their doors ripped off and last month paper had been set alight - both acts causing unnecessary damage.

Victorian’s will be having a day off tomorrow (Friday, September 25) on Grand Final eve in recognition of the AFL Grand Final and this public holiday has been recognised since 2015.

🤔We want to know, should Queensland get a public holiday for the AFL Grand Final? 🏉

🦁With the Brisbane Lions charging into their FOURTH consecutive grand final to take on Fremantle, it feels like Queensland is doing all the heavy lifting without any of the perks!

🏆Given how massive Aussie Rules has become up here, is it unfair that we don’t get a long weekend to celebrate our team’s incredible success? Or should we just leave the sports-themed public holidays to the Victorians?

There’s only one local place to be this Saturday as the Brisbane Lions look to go back, to back, to back against Fremantle and secure their third successive Premiership and sixth since the Brisbane Bears merged with the Fitzroy Lions in 1996 and formed the Brisbane Lions.

Hosting will be the Coolum Beach Breakers AFL Football Club at the Coolum-Peregian RSL Sub Branch with all of the footy action on the big screen from 1pm, with kick off at 2.30pm.

“You can’t stop progress” - that’s what Robert Clarke from Coolum had to say when we took to the streets to ask locals and visitors alike if they thought Coolum was changing too rapidly.

🦁🏆🏉𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧 - 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐭

The Brisbane Lions produced one of the greatest wins of recent times in an absolute thriller last night at the MCG against Hawthorn. The Lions will now play in their fourth consecutive AFL Grand Final next Saturday and will be looking at their third straight Premiership and securing a second ‘three-peat’. The win was celebrated this morning by the Rakey Master with one of his unique sand art pieces on Coolum Beach and was captured by photographer Kerry Mulgrew.
