Snowies Multisport Festival receive $20k boost

The Snowy Monaro visitor economy is set to benefit from a more vibrant events calendar with Snowies Multisport Festival amongst the 61 recipients of the Government’s 2025/26 Regional Event Fund.

Member for Monaro, Steve Whan, said the funds would help event owners bring their vision to life, making a valuable contribution to the Snowy Monaro visitor economy.

Monaro Acclimatisation Society to host workshop in Jindabyne

Monaro Acclimatisation Society (MAS) is holding an event at Gaden Trout Hatchery in August, expecting about 50 people to attend the workshop is mainly for recreational fishers focusing on the topic ‘Towards an integrated freshwater sports fishery that recognises the importance of trout, the potential of native fish, and protects fish that are endangered’.

Saturday 2, August there will be presentations from Snowy Hydro, the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Threatened Species Unit, and others.

The Monaro Post newspaper is the Snowy Monaro Regions only newspaper that’s 100% LOCALLY OWNED and operated.

The Monaro Post came into being on August 17, 2006, with the formation of the Monaro Media Group Pty Ltd. It was established by four local people, all with extensive experience in the newspaper industry. The first edition was published on September 13, 2006. The post has grown over the years with offices located in Cooma, Bombala and Jindabyne and employs 13 dedicated people. The newspaper covers the whole Snowy Monaro region reporting on the latest news, sports, classifieds, rural news, real estate and so much more.
