So tomorrow is re-opening day, I only have one little friend starting at this point.
As I see it, lots of time to get to know each other but I’m sure he would love some more friends to come and play.
If you are curious about my family day care setting, what we get up to, how this type of day care looks or how it could benefit your child let me know and we can make a time to tour my little as I like to call it, but it’s not really so little (dedicated) space and you can meet with me to see if I would be a good fit for your child and family.

I just thought I’d give you a little update on Birdie’s family day care opening date.
It had been planned for today but with the upcoming busy Christmas period and public holidays we have decided the new opening date will be Monday 6th January 2025.

After spending quite a bit of time building a chicken coop we finally have out chickens.
They will love the scraps the children leave as well as providing eggs for us to eat they will also provide good organic material for the compost pile which will eventually be returned to the veggie patch to help our veggies grow.
It is great for children to learn about how food is produced and to know they can do it themselves and it doesn’t just appear on supermarket shelves.

30 diploma year qualified early years educator, with vast knowledge and resources, in a bright, safe and inviting environment, home cooked meals included.

Some things change some remain the same.
Annual CPR completed on Saturday and snake bite kits purchased, one to keep in my car and one to travel with us around the property and wherever we go.
I have also just had verbal approval (still waiting for formal paperwork) for my development application and to re-start my day care.
I have planned the start date to hopefully be 11/11/24 🤞
I can’t wait to welcome some new little people and get back to doing what I do best, so much to do and explore in our new surroundings.

So it’s finally starting to come together, after a bit of a step forward I’m ready to start taking serious enquiries.
I do not yet have a start date but I can get the ball rolling on enrolments in preparation.
So I thought an open day next Sunday 20th October 2pm till 4pm, for a meet and greet with me as well as a look at our set up and facilities.

I have been even quieter than normal on here lately.
It’s been an interesting few months, after ending up in hospital with a compression fracture in my spine, which appeared completely out of the blue, this led to some interesting conversations.
Well from the conversation came a huge shift, for those of you who don’t know we decided to put our house on the market and make a huge tree change.
We have purchased an awesome home just outside of Toodyay, with 5 acres of land.
We are very excited about our next chapter and the lifestyle that goes with it.
So having said all that, I am truly looking forward to Birdie’s 2.0, the slower, rural version where nature based play will be very high on our agenda.
I look forward to getting back in my groove, with new families and children.
I’m also hoping to be a bit more active on here to show our progress and adventures.
Here are a few photos of our little slice of paradise, soon to be filled with the laughter of children, along with the clucking of chickens and a few other animal noises yet to be decided on 😘

I listen to these podcasts from the Big hearted education team. They are generally family day care related but the one I listened to today is a very important topic for all of us.
Road safety is an important issue and something we practice and talk about on our outing and this is one of the reasons we do outings, to give me the opportunity to practice and teach this vital topic.
So as this important to us all I thought I’d share this with you all. I hope you have time to listen.
