Aurora - Sunday, April 10, 2022

I went out in search of the Aurora last Saturday night. First heading to Cape Woolamai just after sunset, but the Aurora wasn’t strong enough to overpower the moonlight.

I returned home to continue on with some work, before heading to Kilcunda as the moon was due to set.

At the very least I figured I could capture some of my first Milky Way images for the year. I did get a short Aurora display while out on the beach at Kilcunda, almost missed while my attention was elsewhere on the Milky Way 😬

I then hung out under the bridge waiting for some more colour, but by 1.15am I was well past pumpkin stage heading into Zombie territory… I was done! Time to go home to bed. 😴

I pulled up in my garage at home and one last time picked up my phone to check for any updates. Comments were coming through the page “It’s on.”

Damn it!

At this point an argument erupted in my head…

Voice 1 - “It’s nothing!, Ignore it, I need to go to bed and get some sleep!”

Voice 2 - “You’re already sitting in the car, just drive the 1km to the end of the road and have a look, you’ll regret it if you don’t!”

This went back and forward a couple of times before thankfully voice 2 won!

It’s not the location I was planning for, but at 2am - close to home is as good as it gets! 😂

Next time: Please Aurora - can I order an appearance earlier in the night! 😉😴

Wonthaggi Hospital and Federation University are partnering to increase local learning opportunities and build workforce skills for the future.

A new Clinical Lab is being established at Wonthaggi Hospital which aims to become a satellite campus of Federation University.

Student nurses will then be able to enrol at Wonthaggi campus to undertake nursing studies at Federation University (subject to accreditation of the Bachelor of Nursing by Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council).

They will be supported by Country Universities Centre at Wonthaggi, where tutorials and lectures will be held, and practical skills labs held at B*H.

Federation University representatives visited the lab at Wonthaggi Hospital and Country Universities Centre recently.

The Wonthaggi campus will be known as a satellite campus of Federation University Institute of Health and Well-being.
