1️⃣He called it the “evening page.”
Every night his children filled out a single sheet:
what they earned, where they spent, what difficult thing they did, and what they postponed.
No lectures, no judgment just facts and one quiet conclusion.
After a year, each child held a map of their own decisions instead of someone else’s expectations.

2️⃣The logic behind it was simple but powerful.
The brain remembers what it formulates, not what it hears.
Writing activates planning, impulse control, and long-term thinking.
The “evening page” didn’t teach finances it taught awareness.
And awareness becomes discipline long before wealth appears.

3️⃣Every day ended with one question:
“What did I do 1% better?”
It sounds tiny… until you see what 1% looks like across a year.
Improvement compounds quietly children don’t just learn it, they live it.
By the time they were teenagers, they could already track their own progress better than most adults.

4️⃣What they remember most isn’t the numbers it’s the ritual.
Dad sitting at the table, tea cooling, everyone reading their conclusion aloud.
Not “good job,” not “why did you spend this,” but:
“What will you change tomorrow?”
When you’re neither rescued nor scolded, you learn ownership.
That’s the moment a child grows up without losing their softness.

5️⃣Over the years, the page became something bigger.
A mirror of choices.
A quiet compass.
A place where they saw the cost of distraction and the value of intention.
The habit closed the loop:
morning goals → evening honesty.
That’s why adulthood came naturally without pressure, without lectures.

6️⃣He said one sentence that explains everything:
“I didn’t teach them to be rich I taught them to measure themselves.”
Money can be lost.
An inheritance can disappear.
But a child who can evaluate their own day, adjust 1%, and repeat
that child eventually wins the long game of life.
