Hello... it's been a while. I came out of hibernation to help convert a song from cassette to CD for an upcoming funeral. I love using my skills to help others.

I have some news to share...

You've probably noticed that I have been 'MIA' for quite a while and not posting, even though I've been busy behind the scenes converting reels and tapes for my lovely clients.

For people who don't know, Milestones In Motion is actually a hobby business/passion project for me and I have another job too.

I was lucky enough to start a new job in September last year where I can use my skills from this business every working day and I LOVE it.

Working both jobs has been very demanding, especially in the last 12-18 months with more clients then ever before.

Don't get me wrong, it's been wonderful to help so many families however I now find myself wanting more work/life balance and spend more time after hours and on weekends with my family.

This isn't goodbye... I know I will be back I'm just not sure when.

So for now...

* Thank you to my wonderful clients for entrusting me to save your precious family memories.

* Thank you to all my followers who have liked/shared my posts and recommended my services - without you I wouldn't have a business.

* Finally, thank you to my wonderful husband who always supported my work, even if it meant that you were more like a single dad on weekends whilst I finished off projects.

I just love how today's technology can help restore past memories. Some of these reels are close to 50 years old and now they are on that tiny red USB stick.

16 reels and 119 slides converted to digital and heading out the door this week.

All of that now on a small USB. 😊

I've converted some reels this week where the film strips had turned red... this is due to a common problem called colour fading where the cyan and yellow dye layers have faded, leaving just the red, magenta, layer. This issue was raised by film makers in the 1950s before being corrected.

It's wonderful that with the technology of today we can save these reels and colour correct them with some editing tools.

Here is a side by side comparison of one of my client's reels. On the left is the original and the right is the colour corrected version.

BTW... sorry for the noise in the background... that's the sound of my machine capturing more reels to digital. 😊

I don't know why I look so tired in this photo... I don't really feel tired and have had a lovely weekend.

Finishing off one project and starting another is always a good day. More memories to cherish.
