The collection blurs the line between sculpture and clothing, drawing inspiration from celestial figures and deities carved into the sandstone, basalt, and granite of sanctuaries like the Ajanta and Ellora caves. By meticulously building flat textiles thread by thread, Mishra’s artisans created a striking trompe l'œil effect—achieving the visual weight, shadow, and permanence of carved stone while maintaining a remarkably soft and fluid drape on the body.
