More than 861,000 hectares of Sea Country have been added to the Southeast Arnhem Land Indigenous Protected Area (IPA), building on more than a decade of successful Aboriginal management.

This declaration recognises the strength of Traditional Owners’ knowledge, leadership and care for Country — protecting culture, communities and precious marine environments for generations to come.

The NAIDOC Flag Raising ceremony was early and the crew had from First Nations Radio and First Nations TV had a tuff time getting out of bed so early…. The Darwin NAIDOC event is a huge success with a large turnout from all areas of The Federal Government ,The NT Government ,City Councils, Land Councils and The Larrakia and other Aboriginal Torres Strait islander family groups . The NAVY was even there . The Larrakia Nailon organised the event and every one was well fed .
