23/05/2026

A/Prof. Dr Donna Odegaard Founder and Chairperson of First Nations Broadcasting Australia and First Nations TV extends sincere condolences to the family of Professor Peter Buckskin who recently passed away. As a close friend and colleague, Professor Buckskin was a distinguished but humble Statesman in South Australia and across the nation. His legacy as an Aboriginal Leader in Education, Indigenous Voice to Parliament, Treaty and more, made a significant contribution in Australia and my journey in 'Education is Power' that led to the success of First Nations Broadcasting Australia. I miss our robust discussions and your wisdom influenced my journey in media. You always believed in me and encouraged me to never give up and never back down to oppression of our rights and self determination as Aboriginal people to be the educators, story tellers and architects of our narrative. We are the proud Black people of this Country and we stand up for what is rightfully ours - our Knowledge is our Power. Our media is First Nations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned media and always should always be an Education platform by us and for us. I will never forget your words, Vale Peter Buckskin 👑
Rest in divine peace 🙏🏽💔
