Yay! At last! Steep learning curves in my life all-round the last couple of months, and doing the graphics on this has been one of them! But, I'm so excited to see a new issue going in the post TODAY!

We're back on track again this year - up and running! We have a couple of new contributors - Nikki Rogers and Shauna Gallagher, along with familiar ones. And possibly another one or two new contributors in the pipeline!!

This is still one of my favourite photos!

For those of you who've been hanging out to hold another issue in your hands - so have we!! I'm currently working on our next issue (going to be a huge learning curve as I take on an extra role!) and there'll be another one soon to follow that one! Thank you everyone for your patience - it's been a tough 12 months for us, and thanks heaps for hanging in there with us. We're looking onward and upward for a great year with Amelia!

I'll be more than happy to share with you in more detail in person if you're popping in to Super Sunday at Big Camp (and hey, that's not too far away!) and as always, if you have any questions, feel free to drop us a message via FB or email ([email protected]).

PS and keep an eye out for a great addition to all that Amelia is - exciting things to come! Here's a clue - it's pink!

Older women, be they mum, grandma, aunt or someone special from church, have a significant impact on growing girls. Young girls need women in their lives who will affirm their self-esteem, encourage them to take pride in themselves, teach them the value and respect of women, and to know that they have someone they can always count on for support. Someone who will stand with them when the going gets tough!

How do you do all that?! It can seem a little daunting, especially if it's your own daughter we're talking about! It's a big responsibility, being able to speak into the story of a young girl. But it doesn't need to be difficult! Something as simple as taking time out together to do something like have a snack, sit at the table and do craft, or even grocery shopping together. These little moments are often the times that are peaceful between you, and give opportunity to speak openly and honestly with each other (in a very natural way - you'd probably find that you don't even need to think ahead about how to open up conversation!).

What little moment are you going to catch today? A cuppa after school? Baking? Listening to reading homework?

PS I love tea cups! Here's a little photo sneak peek from our next issue!

We don't just do craft for 'something to do'! There are recognised benefits to doing craft. Significant, older women who take the time to 'do craft' with younger girls adds even greater benefits. I see the power of craft time and again in my classrooms, as kids relax, open up and share and build deeper bonds.

Crafting can be an antidote to the stresses and pressures of modern living.

Mums - you always knew you loved chatting with your kids, but it's also beneficial for them! Oxytocin is the same hormone released when you nurse your baby, the same hormone that promotes emotional bonding and part of the great impact of hugs!

Just too cute not to share! Coming up in a future issue ... you'll just have to wait and see which one!

Would you believe it, this poster is still on the bathroom door at our house!

And it's just the reminder I need for this week. Maybe it's just what you need, too! Hoping all of you are having a week of courage, faith and confidence :)

Wow, this week has flown! I haven't had a chance to do up a new text to share for the coming week, but this is one I did for Amelia Magazine's blog (you can download it from the blog ameliamagazine.blogspot.com.au - but it's been a while since I've updated the blog!).

So beautifully said :)
