Looks like she couldn’t wait to meet us! ⭐️

Our first calf of the season arrived this morning — 10 days early, and what an exciting way to begin.

A beautiful little heifer by Devon Court Ultra Star U023, our 2026 EKKA Grand Champion Hereford Bull. 🏆

Following U023’s outstanding success at EKKA, the arrival of his first calf marks an important milestone. It is a privilege to see his breeding influence begin to shape the next generation, and this promising heifer is an exciting first example of what he can contribute to our program.

Mum and bub are both doing well, and if this little lady is any indication, we are looking forward to seeing more U023 calves arrive over the coming.

🎙️ A good bull is more than a set of numbers.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Cye Travers for a chat about Devon Court, where we’ve come from and, more importantly, where we’re heading.

We covered plenty — phenotype, BREEDPLAN, genomics, fertility, grazing management and the commercial proof behind the cattle we breed.

For us, it’s never been about chasing numbers. It’s about breeding cattle that look right, are structurally sound, perform on data and, most importantly, work in the real world for our clients.

We also had a yarn about our commercial herd, Paddock to Palate results, a bit of Devon Court history and what’s behind the bulls heading into our September 1 Bull Sale.
