Central Oregon – yarns, fish and sore heads
🏆 Aussie Bass Classic – rained so much we nearly needed flippers. Sunday was canned ‘cause the ramp was under water
Mate v Mate showdown – Dane vs his leader (leader won 🤦‍♂️), Gordo’s camp shenanigans, camp walk, live tunes, fish simulator and Az… riding a bull. Yep. A bull. 🐂😂
🎣 Teams Fishing – Mulwala – Prefish curse? Gastro outbreak? Nick on vomit clean-up? Sunday bomb out? Weather from hell?
Spro & Wisey saving us with a bed and a beer? Legends 🍻
Aussie Team hits South Africa – Big fish, big nights, big yarns. (Some of which probably shouldn’t be repeated…)

Aussie Bass Classic – Lake Sinclair 🎣🔥🌧️

What a weekend! We headed to the Aussie Bass Classic at Lake Sinclair and… well… it was eventful. Featuring legends Lachlan Latham & Mick Hayden, we copped rain, rain, and more rain 🌧️ but that didn’t slow the fun.
Az somehow lost his shirt, jumped over a fire (don’t ask), we got introduced to some “mini beers” 🍻, and found out the bilge pumps had decided to clock off when we needed them most.
Met some absolute cracking people, spun plenty of yarns, raffled off some gear, and put on a BBQ. Lachie Latham and the Aussie Bass Classic raised $3,200 for mental health 🙌 Huge thanks to everyone who chipped in – every dollar counts.
A weekend of laughs, fishing, and chaos… just how we like it 🤙

$20,000 Raised for Mental Health! 💚🎣

What a milestone! Thanks to the incredible support from our listeners, mates, and the fishing community, Codtales has now helped raise over $20,000 for mental health!!
A massive shoutout to the Aussie Bass Classic crew for letting us be a part of the Mental Health BBQ, good food, good yarns, and even better people.
It’s proof that when the fishing community comes together, we can make a real difference. Every raffle ticket, every snag bought, every dollar donated, it all adds up to helping those who need it most.

MENTAL HEALTH LURE AUCTION!
This week we have a Dave Killaleah, Old Dog Lure. Last collectors run No.9 from 2021, signed by Dave himself.

The lure is a ‘The Dane’ (pretty good name if you ask me). Which is a hand made timber lure, around 200mm long with triple trebles. Comes in a display box and with a stubby holder.

Place your bids in the comments and the highest bid by 6pm next Wednesday the 21st August is the winner. Please allow an extra $10 for postage.

Rhys and Nick jump on the mic for an absolute ripper yarn from drifting a river with Az and Nick and landing a brute 89cm Murray cod, followed by 4 more over 70cm, to heading south to Crookwell chasing trout at Pejar Dam where the boys got stuck into some rainbows and Az landed a donkey brown on a Tassie Devil 🎯
Plenty of cod chat as always, why we love the hunt, the hits, and the heartbreaks 🎣💥

This week on Cod Tales, we go on a wild ride across species and state lines. We kick things off with a 28km-drift mission on the Macquarie, where some seriously well-conditioned cod kept us honest. Then it's off to an unnamed trout dam (no GPS pins here, sorry!) with a surprisingly friendly local town and a few slippery surprises. And just to round things out, we land a 91cm flatty during a mid-week work trip—proof that sometimes the best fishing happens when you’re meant to be doing emails.
Trout, cod, flathead—this one's got it all. Tight lines!
