As the year comes to a close, we just want to say a huge thank you for supporting Windy Hollow Books 🤍
From classrooms and libraries to bedtime reading at home, we hope our stories have inspired curiosity, wonder, and big imaginations in young readers.

We’ll be closed from 23 December and reopening on 8 January. Orders placed during this time will be packed and dispatched from 8 January.

Our submissions are now closed but we can’t wait to hear from you when they reopen in 2026. Sign up for our newsletter and keep an eye on our feed and stories for updates, all the news will be found there 💌📚

Beside the Sea continues to find life beyond its pages.
We’re delighted to share that the has included the book in its TurtleCare Travelling Trunk — a hands-on resource used in schools, early learning centres and community events.

Through stories and activities, little learners discover:
🐢 how marine turtles nest
🌙 how light pollution affects hatchlings
👣 how to spot tracks and nests
🌊 how communities can help care for coastal wildlife

The book is also read at the TurtleCare Hatchling Club during the school holidays.

With nesting season underway, we’re grateful to see Beside the Sea by Kerri Day and used in such thoughtful, practical ways — helping children connect story with the natural world around them.

Thank you to the TurtleCare Sunshine Coast volunteers and the Sunshine Coast Council for your ongoing work and support.

Have a story, a portfolio, or a finished project you’re ready to share? We’d love to see it.

We’re currently accepting:
📘 Picture-book manuscripts
🎨 Illustration portfolios
📚 Complete author–illustrator projects

To submit, simply email your manuscript (PDF/Word) or portfolio link, along with a short cover letter. Full submission guidelines can be found in the FAQs via the link in our bio.

A quick note: we’ll only be in touch if your submission moves to the next stage.

Submissions close on 17 December 2025.
