Probably our last interview for the year but boy oh boy what a big name to go out on!

Swedish doom metallers Katatonia are returning to Adelaide to play The Gov next year. It's not for a long time but we're getting the jump on this one with bassist Niklas Sandin on the show tomorrow night to talk about touring, the legacy of the band and their mysterious lyrical process

Plus we'll be playing some of his favourite Katatonia dirges, including from their latest album Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State that came out midyear

UP DOWN UNDER - Charles Owens

Join me for music, news, reviews, and interviews with some of our favourite Australian musicians, Saturday nights on Radio Adelaide 101.5FM 10pm till midnight or streaming live around Australia and the globe on your favourite device

Charlie Owen joins us for a warm, unscripted tour through the songs, friendships, and stages that shaped his life in Australian music.

We trade the mythology for the moments: meeting Don Walker in the small hours, saying yes to Tex Perkins for Triple J’s Unplugged, and learning how a Working Class Ringos ballad could hush an arena full of Chisel fans.

Charlie opens up about his long run with the Divinyls and the bond with Chrissy Amphlett, the quiet pride of being named among Australia’s best guitarists, and the surprise of discovering that Midnight Rain with Lewis Tillett topped Rolling Stone critics’ list years after the fact.
