Apsley’s History Captured in New Book

A new book chronicling the history of the Border Inn and Apsley is now available for purchase. Written by local Maureen Reader, the book offers a timeline of the town and its iconic Border Inn, celebrating their rich heritage and enduring significance in the community.
Copies are available for $20 from the Apsley Post Office, The Corner Shop, or the Border Inn. Postage can also be arranged through the Apsley Post Office for those unable to buy locally.
This publication is a must-read for anyone interested in Apsley’s past and the stories that shaped the town.

Back on 8 August, Mike and Naida Faulkner were travelling from their home in Melbourne to Alice Springs when they stopped for a bite to eat at the Edenhope Dine Inn.

It wasn’t until they were 200 km away in Keith, South Australia, that Naida realised she had left her handbag behind. In a panic, she called the Edenhope Dine Inn and spoke with Heta, wife of owner Nick. She breathed a huge sigh of relief when Heta confirmed they had found her handbag and would keep it safe until their return.

Today, the Faulkners came back to reclaim the wayward bag — and of course, Nick the legend was more than happy to pose for a photo with Mike and Naida!

Water making its way to the Lake Wallace. It's a slow trip and we can only hope.
EDENHOPE TOWNSHIP RAINFALL FOR AUGUST 2025.
Edenhope township received a total of 73.8 mm's for the month of August 2025 which brings the yearly total to 303.7 mm's .
At the same time last year, the rainfall for August 2024 was 53.4 mm's and the yearly total to 245.6 mm's .
