Tropical Cyclone Sean has passed 🌀 It peaked as a category 4 cyclone but luckily for Exmouth it passed us a fair way off the coast, so we got category 1/2 weather conditions. Very fortunate that it didn’t wreak too much havoc on town but sadly some of the underwater life didn’t get off as lightly. The beaches were full of dead corals, sponges, sea hares, sea pens, fish, squid and even this little turtle thismorning 🥺 It was devastating to see fish washing up as I watched. With the storm surge and waves, a lot of the beach including some turtle nests were eroded. There were other turtle eggs still intact so although unlikely, I really hope they survive. RIP little creatures. 💔
Hope everybody is feeling alright after the crazy weather. If you’re hanging at the beach with your pups after this, be aware that many of these creatures are toxic if consumed 🤍
