Juniors travel to Halls Creek next weekend
(12,13 and 14 year old boys attending trip)

Juniors are also attending Perth in October school holidays including Bonnie Williams and Quintaysha Sampi, who will play two games for Claremont and then play with Freo as a curtain raiser at the Optus Stadium AFLW Dockers Eagles Derby.

Country Women's Champs will be October 8 in Perth with a squad of 25 to be announced out of 40 nominations

Wangki School Update with Miss A and Miss Heather from Fitzroy Valley District High School
Week 7 and 8!

Miss Heather is taking some time off so Miss A, Year 3/4 teacher came in to learn out the Wangki Radio catch ups work out!

So much has been happening the last two weeks!

- Skutta Bloke Day - last Friday with a massive support from Fitzroy Valley Organisations inlcluding Gurama Yani U - Fitzroy Valley Men Shed who were a hit with their wooden robots the kids got to make with their 3D printer, wood and tools.

FASD Day March - students walked from Visitor's Centre to the oval to hear important speeches and join in activities.

A film maker has been in town working with the school to highlight its outstanding and unique programs. This has given students extra opportunities to develop their on camera confidence.

On Country this week was out at Roundwater.

Clontarf Health Checks by Sonic Health have been happening and families will get reports.

Stars Foundation have been working with Nindilingarri Cultural Health Services and Marninwarntikura Women's Resource Centre on Women's Health Workshops.

Tura - Culture Through Sound have completed their second week at school working with student on their Young Language Leaders Project - where students have been writing stories and songs and then illustrating them in Bunuba, Walmajarri and Gooniyandi.

Year 6 girls have spoken to admin staff about beginning netball so plans are underway!

Young Insurance Brokers Give Back to Fitzroy Crossing on Final Day

Current and future insurance leaders from across the country are in Fitzroy Crossing today to support the Central Kimberley Football Basketball League Grand Final, including 2026 WA Young Broker of the Year, Isabella Moran, supported by Vero.

Each year, Vero support a the finalists of the national Young Broker of the Year award to travel to a community impacted by severe weather as part of their professional development and to give back to communities who have been recently impacted.

This year Fitzroy Crossing, which was severely impacted by flooding caused by Ex Tropical Cyclone Ellie in 2023 was chosen out of the whole of Australia, with Central Kimberley Football Basketball League chosen as the worthy for their outstanding work with their Junior Football program.

Andrea spoke to Lisa Harrison, Chief Executive Commerical and Personal Injury Insurance when they touched down in Broome before travelling to Fitzroy Crossing yesterday afternoon to help out today.

It is two years since Marra Worra Worra’s Night Space’s opened the doors and Marra Worra Worra’s youth program continued to go from strength to strength with new infrastructure opening in two weeks at their second birthday celebration.

While the service is not a drop in centre it does continue to meet 10-17 year old immediate needs of hygiene, hot meals and safe adult mentorship with collaborations between services including Leedal, Royal Far West, KAFTA, Justice and Tura - Culture Through Sound continuing to grow.

Other programs such as Valley Night Ballers- a structured sport sport program, Dalia- a school attendance program and the justice program continue to provide wrap around support to young people in the Fitzroy Valley.

Luke & I got to represent FX on the dance floor during the week and killed itll!

Blake has got ot 4 songs ready to teach:

- and Good times.
