4ZZZ 4ZZZ is Queensland’s longest running FM radio station. Mostly, we are passionate about Brisbane and the things happening in our city.
(723)

As a not-for-profit community broadcaster, we have been reliably pumping out alternative music, news and culture since we began as the official student radio at the University of Queensland in 1975. Four and a half decades and plenty of history later, we’re broadcasting from Barry Parade in Fortitude Valley, connecting and amplifying the voices of our community across south-east Queensland and str

eaming throughout the world. Whether it's music, arts, LGBTQIA+, First Nations or local issues, we endeavour to empower local communities through community broadcasting. We are run by a small team of paid and volunteer staff, governed by the 4ZZZ Board of Directors and like many community radio stations, powered by volunteers. From the voices you hear on the radio, to the people who process your CDs or run events with our name on it, everyone at 4ZZZ loves what they do. You’ll hear it when you tune into 102.1FM or listen to our digital channel Zed Digital on your DAB radio, both available to stream online.

VOTING FOR THE HOT 100 IS OFFICIALLY OPEN

The Hot 100 has been a mainstay of 4ZZZ’s identity for decades, beginning in 1976 (one of the first countdowns in the country!)

For one year only, we’re mixing up the date of our annual music countdown to coincide with our milestone birthday. On December 7th, we’re celebrating the 🔥SPICIEST, SWEATIEST TRACKS🔥 of the year– as voted by you, the listener! The birthday celebrations have been a mammoth project, and we couldn’t think of a better way to bring it home than a bit of good old fashioned democracy.

This year we’re keeping the focus on the broadcast. We’ll be announcing more information over the coming weeks about countdown day.

Voting is open from November 7th and will run until midnight, Sunday November 30th. Tell you mum, tell your friends, tell your co-worker who seems cool- let’s make some history!

For musicians- our eligibility period hasn’t changed, so don’t stress! Tracks released between November 1st, 2024 - October 31st, 2025 are eligible for consideration in the countdown!
