Maty Young, the founder of Young One Studio, is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His creative journey began at the age of 12 in Perth, Western Australia, where he started as an actor and musician. In his late 20s, he launched his studio in Melbourne in 2014 and relocated to Los Angeles in 2018, shifting his focus to film and digital media. His work has been featured on platforms like HBO MAX, App

le TV, and at the Cannes Film Festival. Maty has built an impressive portfolio, including over 100 demo reel scenes written, directed, and filmed, three feature films as a cinematographer, including his second feature helmed as DP, now streaming on Apple TV, and more than 45 short films where he served as cinematographer, director, or both. Young One Studio, is also a proud sponsor of the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge Los Angeles, a competition that has helped launch Oscar-nominated short films.

It’s been 8 months since we brought the URSA Cine LF 12K into the studio, and wow, do I have thoughts.

After countless shoots, different lighting setups, and side-by-side comparisons, this is my honest follow-up: what’s blown me away, what’s frustrated me, and how it's truly held up on actual sets.

Long Game - Buenobomb (music video by ‪‬)

Filmed back in 2020 during the height of COVID, we weren’t about to let the lockdown stop us. So, with masks at the ready, one cam, and one rapper, we hit the empty streets and made a video.
