Serving pirate chic realness over here! 🏴‍☠️

Thank you so much to everyone who checked in since Friday after seeing my stories—your messages seriously meant the world. 💕 Quick update: my eye’s healing, and I’ve officially unlocked the pirate aesthetic! 😂

Here’s what happened: Aavya was wearing a butterfly claw clip on her bun, and as I leaned down to clean her bum while she was in the toilet (classic mum life), she suddenly jumped (because, you know, 3-year-olds!). The clip’s edge went straight into my eye. There was blood, and after the doctor’s examination, I found out I had a corneal abrasion. A big chunk of the white part of my eye came off (I know, it sounds terrifying). Apparently, all the nerves are connected, so the eye got super upset and decided to drag half my head, cheeks, ears, jaw, and neck into the drama.

But here’s a fun fact: the eye heals faster than anything else, so I’m already on the road to recovery! Hopefully, as this long weekend ends, so will my misery—though it’s stolen my only chance to catch up on life and spend time with the kids.

Though I’m trying to find the humor in this, if I’m being honest, I’m so angry and upset. I had so many plans for this long weekend—household chores to tackle, quality time with the kids—and now everything feels off track. I know it could’ve been worse, and I’m grateful for that, but sometimes you just need to let yourself feel the frustration.

PS: Mom tip—if you’re not into rocking the eye patch club look, toss out all those fancy hair claw clips with sharp edges. Safety first, style second!

And seriously, send me your best pirate jokes—I could use a laugh right about now! 🏴‍☠️😂
