Think you can hack the algorithm? Think again.

Your audience can control exactly what's in their feed - not based on what they engage with, but they can *literally* tell the algorithm what it wants to see.

So what does that mean for you?

It means you have to intimately know your ideal market, beyond high level interests. Because chances are even though they might be interested in Taylor Swift, what they see on their feed could be the complete opposite.

And now they can choose what gets shown to them, you have to understand what drives their interests and create content aligned with it.

This is not just focusing on the surface level content; it's about understanding the structure of these pieces of content and how it is crafted to keep them engaged.

For example: one thing I LOVE to watch are videos from Nate the Hoof Guy. I don't have horses, I will never own a horse, so why on earth do I watch them? It's because I am addicted to seeing the why and the outcome. It's a curiosity hook - it's weirdly fascinating watching the process of Nate unearthing the issue, then trying to figure out how he's going to solve it.

So if you want me to watch your videos 🤪 then you need create content that has that problem -> explanation -> solution structure.

And I think it's fair to say I am not alone in finding this form of content addictive 🤭

While you can't see what's in other people's algorithm, you can check your own and ask yourself the question of why you engage in this content and what is it about it that makes you want more.

Have fun going down the rabbit hole 🤣

Wow, I didn't realise that having paid time off to recover from a major health procedure was a perk!

This headline is probably clickbait, however it does nothing to reframe the conversation around how we support women in the workplace.

Of course the first comment on this post is 'what about men' and I GUARANTEE you if men were to ever go through childbirth, especially a caesarean there would be ZERO debate about ensuring these 'perks' would be available.

Men need time off to recover from a 15 minute vasectomy, but women aren't allowed time off to undergo massively stressful procedures (like IVF), heal their bodies post-childbirth, or raise their children because who tf is going to look after your infant if you're back at work? And btw, you're not even paid the whole 12 months so... what's the issue?

Please stop labelling basic women's rights as a privilege or perk. It's the bare minimum we deserve, especially if you want us to be a productive member of society.

Major Geelong employers have rolled out parental leave packages including up to 18 weeks paid leave, IVF support and lactation facilities. 👩‍🍼See the list 👉 https://bit.ly/4uaVSyt

If you can spot a caption that's written with AI, gold star for you!

When I'm reading someone's post, I'm not analysing it to see if it's AI written. Because I know that person is likely juggling a million other things, and writing from scratch is not part of their wheelhouse.

Yes, I use AI for my own stuff because my brain energy only extends so far. I'll review and rewrite things to make it sound like me, but even I need the help to get the process started.

So please stop shaming business owners for using AI to write their copy. It's 2026, please find another angle to sell your service.
