On Thursday Kerri Erler from the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum joined us to talk about the celebrations of Lighthouses in Queenscliffe and Portarlington last weekend which was International Lighthouse weekend, and the upcoming events in September. We learned about the history of the lighthouses and how the heritage listed foghorn has been made operational again for some celebratory soundings.

We are back and live in the studio today after a few weeks up in the warmth.

We are excited to be chatting to Kerri Erler who is lead volunteer at Queenscliff Lighthouse in this lighthouse month which is supported by the volunteers at the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum

This week we spoke to Ali Corke and Vicky Thursfield from the Apollo Bay Rural Australians for Refugees (ABRAR) group. They have had a beautiful song recorded, called Not Lost in the Dust by Danielle Banks and aim to use it to raise awareness of the plight of the brave Afghani men and women who supported our brave soldiers in the war, who are living in fear under the Taliban.

On Thursday Keith and I had a great chat with Cheryl Hann-Woodlock who talked of the pain of losing her daughter Stephanie when she was only 21 months old. She also talks of the pride she has in the decision she and her husband made at the time to donate Stephanie's organs in the hope they could save the lives of others.
Cheryl is still a great supporter of Organ Donation and has written, performed and recorded her song "I Know You're There".
The song can be downloaded from Hann-Made Studio
All proceeds go to the Royal Childrens Hospital.
