Council should not make big decisions behind closed doors. I will push for genuine consultation before council votes, with community steering committees formed for major projects so residents can have a real voice in shaping their future.

Ratepayers deserve a council that is responsive and accountable. I will work to improve customer service standards across the shire, ensuring feedback loops and resident panels are in place so concerns are not just heard, but acted upon.

Tourism = Community Growth

Tourism should deliver real benefits to local families and businesses. I will support investments that grow jobs and opportunities, while ensuring community committees guide how funds are spent so tourism supports—not disrupts—local life.

Back Small Business

Local small businesses are the backbone of our economy. I will push for shire programs that reduce red tape, provide fair access to contracts, and support start-ups. A business advisory committee of local operators will help guide council’s decisions.

The Coastal Hazard Risk Management & Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) must reflect the community it affects. I will only support its adoption after fair and open engagement, ensuring local voices sit at the table through advisory committees, not just consultants’ reports. I also support the use of up-to-date reports and evidence that reflect local conditions, rather than relying on worst-case scenario climate change computer modelling.

When elected, I will push hard to have a third-party financial and organizational efficiency audit performed. The council is to review the findings and recommendations. Implementation of the findings will be based on their ranking of importance, with the objective to maintain and improve financial and organisational management of the Shire as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible, ultimately resulting in fixed or perhaps lower Council Rates for Rate Payers.

Local Government Elections only come around every two years, with 4 election terms expiring this year, this means 4 council positions will be contested.
