We were inundated for this APRIL edition with news from our contributing schools, sports, community groups and clubs. In a world full of chaos and often upsetting news, it is heart-warming to see the good in our local area.
Indeed, war and peace is in the forefront of our minds with current world events and Anzac Day coming up later this month. This is reflected in the Gazette: read about the anniversary of our own Lone Pine planting (page 3), details of the Dawn Service at Mount Macedon (page 3), Peter Gardinerโs memories of WWII in Tales of Old Gisborne (page 9), as well as a reflection on the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Landing from our own Gisborne RSL president (page 11).
Our local sports also celebrated making, and in some cases, winning grand finals as the summer season draws to a close. We love seeing the passion of our locals young and old across the community as they strive for excellence in their chosen sport. Check out the sport on pages 30-35.
