DOWN MEMORY LANE w/ Streamer | Mondays 10:00am to 12:00pm

6 October 1927 - and cinema will never be the same. The first talking picture, 'The Jazz Singer', is released Starring Al Jolson.

Streamer doesn't have this soundtrack, but she does have a lot of Al Jolson songs - so an appropriate selection will be played. Also on this day, but in 1941, Claude Thornhill records 'Autumn Nocturne', which is another bit of music Streamer doesn't have. She does, however, have other Mr Thornhill tracks, and they will be played this week.

On the Australian side of things - a town plan of Sydney is published in 1810, and in 1911, compulsory voting is introduced. As usual, there will be random, non-theme, music thrown in for good measure.

The Country Roads winds it's way back into town this Sunday at 6am with our Ronnieboy riding high in the saddle, with a whole mess of great country music in the saddlebags!

Tune in for chats with to Kane Vincent (pictured) at 8am and then Mak from Mak & Shar at 8.20am.

Pull the right rein and tune into the r's end of the dial at 2RRR 88.5fm for the best Country in Town!

Cultural celebration took center stage at the memorable Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios !

2RRR's Community Officer, Rose James recently attended the Lane Cove Art Award at Gallery Lane Cove. The evening featured prominent guests including, Federal Member Bennelong, Jerome Laxale MP, Lane Cove Merri Southwood , and Gallery Manager, Miguel Olmo !

Both Merri and Miguel are regular guests on 2RRR's Breakfast Programs, Monday Morning Matters, and Chook's Morning Roost.

2RRR would like to thank the Lane Cove Council and the Lane Cove Art Society for organising a fabulous evening.

22 September finds the world celebrating International Clean Hands week. It's also 70 years since Britain's first ever TV advert - and that was for toothpaste.

So let's have a hands and teeth sort of show today. This might prove to be challenging, keeping to the theme.

🎉 The Hungarian Festival, organised by the Sydney Hungarian Scouts, was a fantastic success! 2RRR's Radio Mozaik was there to capture all the action. With delicious food, fun activities for kids, and a variety of stalls, there was something for everyone. Special thanks to St. Elizabeth Aged Care for bringing their residents and to all the volunteers who made it happen. We appreciate the support from the Hungarian community and everyone who attended! ❤️
