Been a while between posts. You get that! This is worth posting though. Overnight the IOC presented the prestigious Golden Rings Awards. The Golden Rings Awards recognise and acknowledge world-class excellence in broadcasting.

More than 150 Olympic broadcasters from around the world were judged across 12 categories and in each of those categories there were in excess of 100 submissions!!

Our small but brilliant Olympics Unit at Channel 7 created some amazing content for Tokyo 2020. We told our athlete’s stories in short content pieces that we hope lifted their profiles and provided viewers with a deeper insight to the passion our Olympians posses.

We won Silver Rings for Best Athlete Profile – Kai and Saya Sakakibara – what a story.

Pretty much a wrap. Just putting the finishing touches on a programming special to air Monday night on Seven but gotta say this image pretty well sums it up. Bloody knackered but exhilarated by the experience. Tokyo, you did good. A Games for the ages…

Been somewhat flat stick in the Dakota Media world.
We've been producing broadcast content, TVC's, Graphics and features for some of Australia's marquee broadcast sporting events including Channel 7's Summer of Cricket through our great mates at NEP, The Australian Open of Golf and 7's upcoming broadcast of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

2020 is looking to be a game changer for the Dakota team. We're back down in Melbourne for the Australian Tennis Open producing content for the World Feed through Tennis Australia and ongoing Tokyo 2020 broadcast commitments right through to Games time.

Additionally, Celeste has also been killing it in the Producing world, working consistently with FOXTEL, Channel 9 and numerous other production companies on TVC's, Broadcast events and other on-air goodies.

It's been a busy period for us Dakota folk. We closed out last year with some fantastic on-site work for 2 great Australian sporting events, the World Cup of Golf and Invictus Games. Turning around well crafted feature stories, interviews and bespoke play-on / off's for live broadcast. Fun!

So far this year we've produced NRL and Supercars athlete shoots and promos in Sydney / Melbourne for the awesome new sports streaming service, Kayo.

Adam jumped on board with the Channel 7 Olympic Unit for a few weeks to work on marketing and sales features for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Yes Agency has kept Dakota Media busy with several exciting productions for Optus, including a fun "same day turnaround" film for a live Optus event at the ICC.

We're also busy working closely with the NSW Department of Education on some short films to promote education in the outback and our friends at the Australian Museum have recently engaged Dakota Media to produce a fresh series of films to promote some exciting new changes at the museum.

There's plenty more great things to come from Dakota Media. So stay tuned!

We've been busy little Vegemites here at Dakota Media. Aside from being entrenched with broadcast events such as the Invictus Games we've also been on a bit of a branding and TVC run.

It's been great to work with our long time collaborators at the Australian Museum for their forthcoming Whales exhibition which included their new TVC campaign and other digital content.

Celeste headed up the broadcast re-brand for the Australian Baseball League. This was massive which included top to tail broadcast assets including all the on-screen score, line-ups, stats and opener assets.

Cel was also involved with the launch of Channel 9's new business channel "Your Money". She was housed at Nine for months overseeing the broadcast branding and graphic creative / production, alongside the internal team at Nine.

We also hooked up with international Sports Broadcaster, Lagardère to create and produce the broadcast graphic package for the upcoming Australian Golf Open on Channel 7. Another big job, taking in the production of all the on-screen graphics, openers and promos for the event.
