Mid Coast Drag Racing Association (MCDRA) has been forced to postpone their race day planned for Saturday, March 29 due to wet weather conditions.

The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 31.

Event postponed due to consistent rain forcast to continue.

On Sunday, September 29, greyhound lovers from around the world will gather to celebrate this iconic breed when they take part in the Great Global Greyhound Walk.

More than just racing dogs, these hounds are looking for love.

A MAN believed to be aged in his 50s has died following a collision with an SUV at Stroud on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 7am on Thursday, September 5, emergency services were called to Booral-Washpool Road at Stroud, following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and car.

The rider believed to be aged in his 50s, died at the scene.

MidCoast Council will have a new look after the September 14 local government elections as five out of 11 councillors are not running, including one who fell victim to the Liberal nomination fiasco.

MidCoast is a sprawling, 10,000-square kilometre electorate formed by the amalgamation of Great Lakes, Taree and Gloucester councils in 2016.

The council has 10 years of deficits predicted.

To promote the inaugural Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) commemorations this year, RSL NSW has encouraged sub-branches to engage with local schools with the Postcards of Honour initiative.

The initiative has sub-branch representatives visiting schools to discuss the service of our current Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, and particularly those who deployed to the MEAO.

MidCoast Council has formally transitioned the disability services delivered by MidCoast Assist to Ability Options.

This transition has provided continuity of services to MidCoast Assist's disability participants and also for many MidCoast Assist staff who have elected to take up employment with the new provider.

With the weather warming and the rain subsiding a small group from Gloucester Environment Group (GEG) travelled to Wallingat National Park south of Forster.

The day out was intended to be exploratory as some had never been to the forests located on the western side of Wallis Lake.
