Fellow Vaporwave, Bandcamp, and compilation album enthusiasts, behold the complete 'J-Card series', all gathered in a linktree hub for your convenience, with chibi stickers of each mascot to boot.

Running from the 25th of March, 2018, to the 18th of April, 2020, and spanning a total of 16 albums, this project explored its specific themes through the allotted musical genres and the many producers who interpreted them.

I'll be adding other curated compilations I've previously done, and will include new chibi characters accordingly!

Flash Compilation Announcement!

“MyNmR”

This charity comp is to raise funds to aid those affected by the Myanmar earthquakes.

I was lucky enough to converse with an art teacher in the area who has suggested a number of orgs that are worth supporting, which is a relief, as I know donating directly can be difficult amidst the civil war and conflict.

Please include the title, your artist name, and a link to your music page (bandcamp/Soundcloud etc) for the album credits.
Genre: Vaporwave and it’s branches of sub sounds.
Length: 5 mins or thereabouts.
You can send in more than one, under an alias if you’re motivated.
Deadline: due to the urgency of the situation, this will be wrapping up on the 23rd of this month, 26th at the latest.

The impact of this earthquake has been tragic, and i hope this album will help in the ways that matter most.

Melb heads, where you at? Turn up and get down!

After a lot of behind-the-scenes work, I am thrilled to invite all our Always Open shoppers to the live Vaporwave Pop Up Shop.

On Saturday 5 April, 10 artists from across the Australian vaposphere will descend on the in Brunswick for 7 hours of weird, warpy, and wonderful sound.

Whether you're into something smoother and ethereal, or inclined towards pumping future funk and glitchnoise, there is sure to be something to your liking. It's organised by yours truly (not PBS), and will be a fantastic event.

Legend 🐐

Nujabes, born Jun Seba, was a Japanese producer and DJ who played a pivotal role in creating the Lo-Fi hip-hop genre. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Nujabes started experimenting with blending smooth jazz, soulful samples, and mellow beats.

What made Nujabes' approach unique was his ability to capture a sense of nostalgia and emotional depth in his music. He embraced imperfections, leaving in vinyl crackles and warm analog textures, which gave his beats a raw and genuine quality.

Nujabes' most influential work came through his album "Modal Soul" (2005) and his collaboration on the soundtrack of the anime series "Samurai Champloo." His music became synonymous with relaxation, study sessions, and a meditative ambiance.

Tragically, Nujabes passed away in 2010, but his legacy lives on through the Lo-Fi movement he helped shape. His dedication to fusing jazz, soul, and downtempo beats has inspired countless artists to create the soothing, atmospheric sound that defines modern Lo-Fi hip-hop. Nujabes' influence continues to be felt by both music producers and listeners, marking him as a true pioneer of the genre
