Join us again at the beautiful Goodwood Books for a night of music and physical media, with sets by Gilly & Bede and Jack Ray. We will also have available our caps lock records’ compilation record Sitting In The Same Chairs Volume II on CD, including 14 tracks from local artists from 2025.
Gilly & Bede are a sister folk duo on Kaurna Yerta. Comprised of cello, guitar, and voices in harmony, the pair combine traditional, 1960s and contemporary influences to create a characteristically melodic and poetic folk sound.
Based in Tarntanya/Adelaide, Australia, Jack Ray “embraces freeform songwriting, emotional vulnerability, and [taps into] the enduring relationship between poetry and music”. He began performing as Jack Ray in early 2025, exploring a more intimate and personal sound than his previous projects. His debut EP, Silence After Love, has been praised as “his most honest and sensitive project to date,” offering listeners an unguarded glimpse into his emotions and stories. Live, he blends intimate, stripped-back moments with the folk-rock energy of his latest single, “Mr Kerouac,” a sound that will shape his forthcoming releases.
