Our next show welcomes Ella Ion back to the space, supported by the solo project of Luka Kilgariff; Bear Phase. Join us at Goodwood Books for a night of physical media, music, books and tea. Come by before the show from 3:30-5 to see For The Record - an exhibition of record holders.

Emerging from Kaurna Land (Adelaide, Australia), fragmented-folk musician Ella Ion crafts music that cuts deep to the core. Drawing on influences of indie-rock, folk and country, her eloquent lyricism and masterful musical control delivers a cacophony of raw emotion, anchored by grit and heart.

Bear Phase is: a songwriting vehicle, learning how to think concisely. Guitar music trying not to be, six string stuff with echoes of (South) Americana.

For The Record is a trio of free, travelling exhibition events taking place across Tarndanya/Adelaide this October. 6 artists will present their record holders; altars, artefacts and objects that can hold records (CDs, vinyl or tapes). From found objects to winding sculptural forms, stained glass to textiles and carved wood to mechanical hands, each artist explores how we might hold, frame, touch and connect to sound and music.

You are invited to our 3 events;
Goodwood Books - 3:30-5pm - (Goodwood) See the works among the shelves in the home of our caps lock records live shows, before the usual bi-monthly gig in the evening. Lineup for the show announced tomorrow.

Bar Pin - 4-7pm - (Mile End) Join us for a hybrid exhibition and listening bar event at Bar Pin, with a specially curated menu just for this event. Each artist will have also selected a record to be held in their record holder, which will be played on the night for you to listen to.

Interim Recording Studios - (C*D) 5-7pm Upstairs at Interim is the caps lock records office/studio space. Join us as we turn our working space into an exhibition, with an artist conversation and free tea included!

Come to 1 event, come to 2, come to all 3!

All events are taking place on the unceded lands of the Kaurna People. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

Our next show will be August 15 with resting mind flowers and short snarl - tix in bio and stories now!

Resting Mind Flowers is a lofi folk duo based on Kaurna yerta. Comprised of guitar, cello and vocals, they create thoughtful, raw and occasionally catchy songs.

short snarl is the solo project of Tarntanya/Adelaide-based musician, writer, teaching artist and composer Thea Martin. Accompanied by Sam Wilson (Any Young Mechanic) and V Marousopolous (Keeskea), the trio weave together delicate, intertwined alt-folk.

Doors @ 6pm.

Music @ 6.30 and 7:15pm.

Event finishes at 8:30pm.

Tea provided.

If you select a ticket type with a CD, we will have your album set aside for you to collect upon arrival.

We are happy to announce that the release date for our live compilation from our May show with Perfect 50, Adela May and Georgia Oatley at Music in The Square will be August 15. 6 tracks recorded live, mixed by Matt Schultz ♥️ Its a tiny run, so please DM us if you’d like to reserve one ($10).

The artwork was compiled from the collaborative stamping workshop led by Simone Tippett from Union St Printmakers | printmaking classes & fun - thank you to everyone who contributed! See if you can spot your stamp.

HEY! A caps lock exhibition of sorts? It’s called FOR THE RECORD. It’s an open call out. We’re curating a series of listening bar events, framed by ‘holders’ - for vinyl, CD or cassette, that we want you to make! Open to all regardless of art practice or experience. Make something for the first time, recycle a work you’ve already made or create something specifically for this brief. Shoot us a tiny proposal or ask us questions. Proposals due July 31st.

A beautiful night is happening in Tarndanya/Adelaide right now. I (Thea) am not there but I’m being kept up to date in London by the amazing caps lock community. Congratulations to on premiering an incredible body of work. Thank you to Adela, Ellie, Matt and Joseph for making the event run so beautifully! Thanks to Sarah and my mum for sending me updates to share with you all ♥️
