Broadcast Channel Changes in Adelaide

Channel changes

Seven is upgrading broadcast technology across Australia and on February5th 2025 there will be changes in Adelaide. These changes may require that your TV is re-tuned to reflect those updates.
Part of these changes is the removal of MPEG2 technology to be replaced with MPEG4.
MPEG4 enables broadcasters to improve the quality of the services they deliver to meet consumer demand.

The changes are as follows:

Channel 7 will be converting to HD (in MPEG4)
Channel 70 and 71 will also be HD (in MPEG4)
7two will become HD in MPEG4
Will I need to re-tune my TV?

Changes should automatically appear in the channel list of most TVs. If not, then the first thing to do is to re-tune your TV.
Most TVs have an option to automatically re-scan channels within the TV menu. In many cases, the channel changes will appear after completing this process. If you are unsure how to re-scan channels you should refer to your TV manual or contact the manufacturer of your TV.

Please just wait until it is back in operation (time unknown)

Electricians Cabling Registration

There are still some people in the industry, sometimes even RTOs, who think electricians are able to work on telecommunications and data cabling without an ACMA Cabling Provider Rules Registration. This is a false assumption!

The practice is a real risk for both the cabler and possibly the client. In the event of a cable failure that resulted in loss of a medical, fire or security alarm, the litigation, would be costly.

Please check your Tradie for the Telecommunications Open Cabling Registration License next time they touch any telecommunication equipment (Wifi, Data Cabinets, TV cabling, CCTV and Security)
