Independent NSW MP Mark Latham has again denied breaking any laws or breaching legislative standing orders in a lengthy public statement addressing allegations of inappropriate behaviour in state parliament.

The former federal Labor leader has faced mounting political pressure over media reports alleging emotional and physical abuse of his ex-partner Nathalie Matthews, and that he allegedly participated in a consensual s*x video in his office.

As politicians call for Mark Latham's conduct in parliament to be investigated by the privileges committee, a top constitutional lawyer says it would be "very, very difficult" to have him expelled even if the allegations were proven.

It follows media reports he allegedly took photos of female colleagues speaking in parliament and made disparaging comments about them in private messages and participated in a consensual s*x video in his office.

As calls grow for parliament to take action against Mark Latham, University of Sydney professor of constitutional law Anne Twomey says there are limits on what parliament could do, even if the allegations are proven.

🛠️ GOSFORD WATERFRONT PLANS 🛠️
It's back to the drawing board for the revitalisation of Gosford Waterfront, with the State Government confirming plans for high-rise development over the water have been scrapped.

New plans are being drawn up to deliver smaller-scale improvements to the area over the next 18 months.

The community is invited to contribute ideas via the Hunter Central Coast Development Corporation website (link in the comment section), which is open until 17/08.

Ideas being floated include a boardwalk, a water fountain, a cafe and a playground.

Police on the NSW Central Coast arrived at an address to find a man standing in the middle of the road armed with a knife.

The union representing Central Coast nurses says staffing shortages and poor working conditions have escalated at Gosford and Wyong hospitals with winter in full swing.

Nurses rallied outside Gosford Hospital yesterday, where they say a 'code yellow' emergency was reached last month - meaning patient demand exceeded the hospital's resources.

Local nurse and delegate with the Nurses and Midwives Association, Kelly Falconer, says hospital staff can't keep up with the season's influx of patients.

The CEO of Snowy Hydro has apologised to residents in the NSW Hunter region, who reported smelling a strong diesel odour earlier this week.

The company says it was testing running the plant on diesel as part of its commissioning process.

Captaining an oyster tour boat by day and playing the French horn in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra by night, the life of Marnie Sebire takes in the "best of both worlds".

Throughout her music career, she has toured with the Australian World Orchestra and performed with Australian rockers Silverchair (pictured top left), featuring on their album Diorama.

But when she moved from Sydney to a home only accessible by boat on the Hawkesbury River.

She began working with a fifth-generation oyster farmer to hone her maritime skills.

“It's such a unique thing to come out here and don these waders and take people out [on the boat] to this beautiful region," she said.

"I didn't think I could balance my music and a life on the water, I'm literally living the dream!"
