People say you should reconcile with your past, to go forward.
There's a name that has stuck with me for 35+ years.
Mr George Clifford of Glenroy Primary School. You will always be an inspiration to me. Once I left school, I made sure I would be everything I ever wanted to be and it was because of you, Mr Clifford.
In Grade 6, I was 11 years old and I struggled a lot in school. I wasn't a bad kid, I was just distracted and I wasn't smart like the other kids. It took me all that extra time and energy just to keep up with the other kids.
It was the night of our Grade 6 Social and graduation, that you really set in stone of what I would become.
You publicly humiliated me in front of the school. You berated me and reduced an 11 year old to nothing. You shattered what little confidence I had and set in motion a series of events that would crush my school life.
I decided that night, at just 11 years old, I would NEVER allow a tyrannical as***le like you, to EVER do that to another child ever again.
I went on to do EVERYTHING I ever wanted to achieve, just to stick it to you.
Now, I will continue to mentor and help kids grow and become who they are, and never have to face a **** like you.
Mr Clifford, thanks for showing me the most important lesson in life: people in power are rarely ever there for anything other than their own ego.
You were a respected teacher, by those parents who had kids that met YOUR standards. You even went on to become the school principal.
The reality is, you were a tyrant and a thug and while I forgive you, you can also rot in hell, as***le.
My only regret is that I never got the chance to say it to your face.
