‼️‼️‼️It seems CRAZY🤪 we know, but it’s time to start thinking about GJRL SEASON 2026!!!

Off the back of a fab touch season (Thanks GJRL Touch🫶🏻) Grenfell Junior Rugby League has officially opened the registrations for the Group 11 competition commencing April 2026.

Vale Walter “Wal” Gam – Grenfell Junior Rugby League Life Member 💛🖤

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Walter “Wal” Gam, a much-loved Life Member of our club and a true cornerstone of junior rugby league in Grenfell.

Wal dedicated an extraordinary amount of time, effort and care to GJRL over many years. His contribution to our club was immense and enduring, leaving a legacy that continues to shape who we are today. In recognition of his tireless service, the GJRL gear shed proudly bears his name, as does our Junior Club Person of the Year award, a lasting tribute to his commitment and generosity.

GJRL has been honoured to be asked to form a Guard of Honour at Wal’s service, a mark of the deep respect held for him by our club and community. We encourage current and past players, officials and families to attend and help honour a man who gave so much to junior sport in Grenfell. The Service will be held on Friday 19th December, 10am at the Grenfell Lawn Cemetery. Please wear your Goanna’s colours in tribute.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to Gordie and the Gam family at this very difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Wal. Your legacy lives on in every jersey pulled on and every child who runs onto the field.

In Loving Memory of Marie Cotter – GJRL Life Member 💛🖤

Grenfell Junior Rugby League wishes to acknowledge the passing of Marie Cotter, a cherished member of our club who was awarded Life Membership in 2017.

Marie was a true pillar of GJRL. For many years she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to supporting our players, families and the wider club community. Her commitment to helping the club thrive, whether through hands-on involvement, quiet behind-the-scenes work, or her constant encouragement, has shaped GJRL into the strong community it is today.

Her loyalty, warmth and tireless service will be remembered with deep gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and loved ones.

Rest peacefully, Marie, and thank you for everything you gave our club.

We are excited to announce the Grenfell Junior Rugby League Management Committee for the 2026 season!

A huge thank you to everyone who has put their hand up to support our club for another big year. Your time, energy and commitment are what keep our kids on the field and helps our club grow stronger every season.

This year, we’re especially excited to introduce some fresh structure and diversity within the operations of the club in the form of an Auxillary Committee. We’re focusing on matching roles to people’s strengths, embracing the wide range of skills our volunteers bring, and making sure that many hands make light work across the season.

We’re looking forward to a positive, well-supported and fun year ahead for all our players, families and volunteers.
