Does your social media strategy need a refresh?

If you're posting here and there, running out of ideas, not sure what's actually working or feeling like your socials have become another job on the never-ending to-do list… it might be time to look at the strategy behind them.

A social media refresh could be as simple as:

✨ Updating your bio and business information
🔎 Adding better keywords to help people find you
🎯 Getting clear on who you're actually trying to reach
📚 Creating content pillars for your business
💡 Building a bank of content ideas
📸 Planning what photos and videos you need to capture
📅 Working out a realistic posting schedule
📊 Looking at what's working — and what isn't
📍 Making your content more relevant to your local customers
🔗 Making sure your socials actually lead people towards an enquiry, booking, website or sale

And you don't necessarily need someone to manage your social media every week to get help with this.

I can sit down with you for a one-off strategy session, review what you're currently doing and help you work out where to go next.

I can also create a custom social media guide for your business with content pillars, post ideas, FAQs, Reel ideas, photo/video ideas, keywords and practical recommendations that you can take away and implement yourself.

Or, if you'd rather hand the whole thing over, I can help with ongoing social media management and content creation too

Not sure which option would suit your business?

Book a free discovery call and we can have a chat about what you're currently doing, where you'd like to go and what kind of support would actually be useful for you.

RIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Marketing Your Small Business

Marketing your business doesn’t have to mean posting every day, jumping on every trend or spending heaps of money on ads.

Good marketing is really about knowing what you want to achieve, who you’re trying to reach and finding the right ways to get your business in front of them.

A few things I always recommend:
Know what you actually want your marketing to achieve.
Understand who your ideal customers are.
Don’t rely on just one platform — think website, Google, social media, email, local marketing + more.
Pay attention to what’s actually working.
Stay consistent, even when business is busy.

And probably one of the biggest ones…

Don’t wait until work goes quiet to start marketing.

Marketing is something that works best when you keep building it in the background — staying visible, building trust and making sure people know who you are before they need you.

You also don’t need to copy what every other business is doing. What works for someone else might not make sense for your business, your customers or your goals.

Find what works for you and build from there.

Need help working out where to start?
I can help with everything from your marketing strategy and online presence to websites, social media, Google, SEO and content.

Stuck on what to post? You're definitely not the only one

One of the biggest things I hear from small business owners is:

“I just don't know what to post.”

The trick is having a few content pillars to work from, rather than trying to come up with a completely new idea every time you open Facebook or Instagram.

A few content ideas almost any small business can use:

✨ Answer a question customers regularly ask
📸 Show behind the scenes of your business
⭐ Share a customer review
💡 Give a quick tip related to your industry
👋 Introduce yourself or your team
🎥 Show a recent job, service or product
📚 Educate customers about what you do
❓ Bust a common myth or misconception
🏡 Share something local or community-related
🔄 Show a before & after
🛠️ Explain your process or how something works
❤️ Share the story behind your business

But your content shouldn't just be a random collection of posts.

Having content pillars specific to your business gives you a framework to work from, keeps your content varied and makes planning SO much easier.

And this is something I can help with

I can put together a custom Social Media Content Guide for your business, including things like your:

✔️ Content pillars
✔️ Content ideas under each pillar
✔️ FAQs to turn into posts
✔️ Educational topics
✔️ Photo & video ideas
✔️ Reels ideas
✔️ Promotional content ideas
✔️ Keywords and SEO ideas
✔️ Suggested posting mix
✔️ Ideas tailored specifically to your industry, customers and goals

So rather than staring at your phone thinking “what the heck am I going to post today?” 😂, you'll have a bank of ideas you can keep coming back to.

Perfect if you want to manage your own socials but just need a plan and plenty of ideas to get you going.

Or, if you'd rather not do it yourself at all — I can help with the content creation and social media management too

📩 Send me a message if you'd like a personalised content guide created for your business.

FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Your Online Presence

Your online presence is a lot more than just having a page or a website.

When someone hears about your business, there’s a pretty good chance they’re going to look you up before they contact you. They might check Google, Facebook, Instagram, your website… or a combination of them all.

And you want what they find to make it easy for them to understand who you are, what you do, where you service and how to contact you.

A few simple things can make a BIG difference:

Keep your branding consistent across platforms
Make sure your contact details, hours and service areas are up to date
Regularly add recent photos, projects and work
Think about the words people are actually searching for
Keep your website updated
Don’t forget about your Google Business Profile
Make it easy for someone to take that next step and contact you

You don’t need to be absolutely everywhere online — but the places you are showing up should be working together.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more marketing. It’s about making what you already have work better.

If you’re not sure how your business is looking online, I can help with online presence audits, website refreshes, Google Business Profiles, SEO, social media and overall marketing strategy.

See you next Friday for another Macrance Do’s + Don’ts 🤎

Posting regularly but still not seeing much growth on social media?

It might not be how often you're posting — it could be what you're posting, who you're talking to and what you're giving people a reason to do next.

A few things I often see holding small business pages back:

✨ Posting just to stay active, without a real purpose
✨ Only posting about products or services
✨ Not showing the people or personality behind the business
✨ Creating content for everyone instead of your ideal customer
✨ Forgetting keywords and local SEO in captions and profiles
✨ Not giving people a reason to comment, save, share or get in touch
✨ Looking at follower numbers instead of enquiries, clicks and actual customers

Social media isn't just about putting a post up three times a week and hoping for the best.

Your content should help people find you, get to know you, trust what you do and eventually take that next step — whether that's following your page, visiting your website, sending an enquiry, making a booking or buying from you.

And you don't need thousands of followers for social media to be working.

I'd much rather see a small local business with 500 relevant, engaged followers who could actually become customers than 10,000 followers who are never going to buy from them.

If you feel like you're constantly posting but not getting anywhere, it might be time to look at the strategy behind your content, not just create more of it.

Reviews like this mean so much 🤎

I’ve loved working alongside the Farmers Warehouse team and being able to help with so many different parts of their marketing — from social media and content creation to SEO, campaigns, catalogues, digital design and everything in between.

One of my favourite parts of what I do is becoming an extension of a business rather than just being the person behind the screen posting to Facebook

It’s getting to know the business, throwing around new ideas, encouraging the team to get involved, finding new ways to promote what they do and helping keep everything moving in the right direction.

And yes… sometimes that means giving everyone a little push to get in front of the camera.

I’m very lucky to work with some amazing local businesses, and feedback like this is a lovely reminder of why I enjoy doing what I do.

Thank you to the Farmers Warehouse team for trusting me with your marketing and letting me continually throw new ideas your way!

If your business could use an extra set of hands with social media, content, websites, SEO, marketing or digital design, feel free to send me a message.

FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Choosing the Right Platforms

Does your business really need to be on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube AND everything else?

Nope.

One of the biggest things I tell businesses is that you don’t need to be everywhere — you need to be where the right people are.

Before adding another social media platform, think about:
Who is your ideal customer?
Where do they actually spend their time online?
What type of content can you realistically create?
What are you trying to achieve?
How much time do you actually have to manage it?

A local service business might get great results from Facebook + Google, while a visual brand might benefit more from Instagram, and a B2B business could find LinkedIn much more valuable.

There’s no perfect platform combination that works for every business.

And being active and consistent on two platforms that make sense is usually much better than having six accounts you barely have time to update.

Choose your platforms with a purpose, not because you feel like your business should be on them.

And if you're not sure where your business should be showing up online, that's something I can help you work through too.

See you next Friday for another Macrance Do’s + Don’ts 🤎

So… what does Macrance actually do?

Good question, because the answer these days is definitely a little bit of everything when it comes to helping small businesses show up, look professional and grow.

From building or refreshing your website, setting up your socials and Google Business Profile, to creating content, managing social media, designing marketing materials, improving SEO or helping plan your next promotion — I can jump in where you need me.

I can even come to your business or job site to capture photos and videos, create branded products and event materials, or simply sit down with you and work out a plan when you're not quite sure where to start.

And that's probably my favourite part about Macrance — there's no one-size-fits-all approach.

Every business has different goals, budgets and needs, so whether you need a one-off job, ongoing support, a custom package or just an extra pair of hands every now and then, we can work out what suits your business.

And if what you need isn't listed, just ask! There's a good chance I can help — or point you in the right direction 😊

Not showing up on Google? Here’s why…

If your business isn’t appearing when people search for what you do, it’s usually one (or more) of these...

🚫 You don’t have a website
👉 Social media alone won’t help you rank on Google

🚫 Your website isn’t optimised
👉 No keywords, no structure, no SEO = Google doesn’t know what you do

🚫 Your Google Business Profile isn’t set up (or updated)
👉 This is HUGE for local businesses

🚫 You don’t have enough content
👉 Google favours helpful, relevant, updated information

🚫 You’re in a competitive industry
👉 Which means you need to be more strategic, not just “have a website”

💡 The good news?
These are all fixable

If you’ve ever Googled your business and thought…
“Why am I not coming up?”

This is your sign it’s time to fix your online presence

💬 Send me a message if you want help getting your business seen on Google

How do you build an online presence from scratch?

It can feel overwhelming… but it doesn’t have to be.

Here’s a simple way to get started:

1. Get clear on your business
What do you offer? Who is it for?
👉 Clarity first, everything else builds from this

2. Set up your foundations
✔️ Facebook / Instagram
✔️ Google Business Profile
✔️ Basic branding (logo, colours, fonts)

3. Create a simple website
👉 This is your home base — where people go to learn, trust, and enquire

4. Start showing up consistently
Share tips, your work, behind the scenes, FAQs
👉 You don’t need to be perfect, just present

5. Focus on being helpful, not just selling
👉 The more value you give, the more people trust you

💡You don’t need to do everything at once
Start simple… and build as you go

If you’re starting from scratch and don’t know where to begin…
💬 Send me a message — I can help you build a strong online presence step by step
