‼️🚨 WE’VE HAD ENOUGH ‼️🚨
People power is behind a new petition launched by the Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce calling for more police for Gunnedah.
The community has had enough of unacceptable levels of serious crime and is calling for the government to:
1️⃣ Implement 24-hour on-site staffing at Gunnedah police station, ensuring officers are available to respond in real-time to overnight incidents.
2️⃣ Increase police resourcing in Gunnedah, including staffing levels, patrol capability, and crime prevention units.
3️⃣ Introduce a dedicated, locally-answered Gunnedah police phone line so that calls made to the station during emergencies or disturbances are answered and actioned by on-site officers - rather than being redirected to distant locations.
🚨🚨Let’s get Gunnedah the support it needs. Sign the petition! 🚨🚨

Gunnedah-Talibah Flats flooding
Prepare to isolate
Watch and Act

The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to PREPARE TO ISOLATE due to predictions that the Namoi River at Gunnedah may reach Major flooding Friday afternoon

:

- Talibah Flats

You should monitor the situation and prepare to be isolated by floodwater. Consider the effects isolation will have on family, work, and educational commitments.

You may be trapped without power, water, and other essential services and it may be too dangerous for NSW SES to rescue you.

What are we expecting?

The Bureau of Meteorology advises the Namoi River at Gunnedah is currently at 2.25 m and steady, below the minor flood level.

The combined flows from the Mooki River at Breeza, the Peel River through Carroll Gap, and potential outflows from Keepit Dam are likely to cause flooding downstream at Gunnedah.

The Namoi River at Gunnedah is likely to exceed the minor flood level (7.30 m) Thursday evening.

The river is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (7.60 m) Friday morning.

The river may reach around the major flood level (7.90 m) Friday afternoon, depending on Keepit Dam releases.

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by flooding:

- Properties around the Talibah Flats area.
