Here's a new clip from Jerrah Patston, who's a new member of the Flippin Yeah family. The song itself 'Didn't Play Mull of Kintyre' is from his new album 'Abandoned Cricket Games' and it's just so great and heartwarming! The clip adds a healthy dose of Beatlesque magic. So beautiful Jerrah!

Massive thanks to Triple R - 3RRR 102.7FM for making Uncle Roger's latest release Album of the Week. It's a hugely important one, full of truth and hope and just downright classic songs!

Triple R's Album of the Week is Buluunarbi and the Old North Star, the debut collection of original songs from Roger Knox, beloved as the "Koori King of Country". A proud Gomeroi man born in Moree, Roger has been making music for decades, from singing gospel in church choirs as a child to touring with his family band Euraba in his forties.

Now in his 70s, Roger is writing and recording his own songs for the first time. His warm baritone voice carries stories of the Stolen Generations, connection to Country, and cultural pride. He sings of Middle Camp where his mother was born before being taken from her family, and Toomelah Aboriginal Mission Station where he was raised. He honours the sacred Boobera Lagoon, and the powerful legacy of fellow songman Dougie Young. The resulting record serves as both personal testimony and communal archive, offering listeners a pathway toward understanding, unity and healing.

Also out on Flippin Yeah Records this month is the new album by Kangaroos With Machine Guns called ‘Tryin Terget Te Dubbo’. The band, fronted by Archer and backed by a band of Boorloo brothers (luke and Ryan Dux, Todd Pickett), create a visual gothic alchemy on those rare moments they can actually share the same geography.

But they say it better themselves:

music is the union between the personal internal world and the mystical. Kangaroos with machine guns is a band that does not rehearse or write set lists. They are driven by the glittering glistening moment of creation. Many of the songs on this record are performed by the band for the very first time. They are not perfect but there is a freshness and vibrancy akin to a lightning strike, or a first or last breath. Turn the lights down low and let the music wash over and through you.

We are over the Kimberley Moon to announce that Kankawa Nagarra has been shortlisted for this years The Amp (Australian Music Prize)

She says: “it gives me much pride that the album titled “ Wirlmarni” which is a word in Walmajarri meaning (disappeared) has been nominated for The Australia Music Prize, this album is dedicated to my brother Frankie Lissan, who left us this year also to our elders, our story tellers both men and women who are gone, many thanks for the support of my family, my children and my grandchildren and my greats, especially my great Tykira Wilson who features on the cover of the album”
