🔥 Most people chase success. Shaun “Googsy” Kestle, Gastronomcoyc, chased smoke instead.

And somewhere between the fire and the flavour, he found purpose.

In this week’s episode of Inspired to Soar with Hannah Radio Podcast, she sits down with Googsy, a man who’s spent 25 years turning his love of BBQ into something much deeper: a life built around community, creativity, and connection.

From fine dining to fire pits, Googsy’s story isn’t just about cooking, it’s about identity, passion, and finding peace in the things that set your soul alight.

He’s cooked with world-class pitmasters, judged at the World BBQ Championships, and still says the best part of it all… is seeing people smile over something he’s made.

This one’s for anyone who’s ever felt lost and needed a reminder that your fire still burns.

The world doesn’t need more perfect people, it needs more people like Linda Perrin.

She left home at 14. Faced addiction, abuse, and heartbreak.
But instead of letting it define her, she built a life around helping others heal.

For 36 years, she’s opened her home to foster kids, volunteered for Lifegate and Orange Sky, and turned her pain into a legacy of kindness.

This episode of Inspired to Soar with Hannah Radio Podcast isn’t about success, it’s about strength.
It’s about the quiet power of showing up for others, even when life tried to break you.

🎧 Episode #48 — The Power of Kindness with Linda Perrin
💛 Hosted by: Hannah Swinnerton

👉 Listen now and be reminded:
You’re never too broken to begin again.

Most people think learning a new language is just about words.
But for Walter, it’s about belonging.

Born in Argentina.
Raised in Germany.
Now chasing sunshine in Australia with his partner and their dog. ☀️🐶

When he first arrived, he realised something powerful, language isn’t just communication. It’s connection. It’s confidence. It’s how you find your place in a new world.

That’s where Anita comes in. Through one-to-one English sessions at Advance Community College RTO:4016, she’s helped Walter turn awkward silence into meaningful conversation and that changes everything.

In this episode of Anita’s Community Catch-Up, Walter shares what it really feels like to start again, what drives him to keep learning, and what “home” means when you’re building it from scratch.

🎧 Episode #7 – Walter’s Journey: From Germany to Hastings is live now on Radio Western Port.

🎙️ The Wrinkle Report - Episode #3: Joan’s Story

Sometimes strength looks like letting someone help you.

In this episode, Lisa sits down with Joan, a piano player, a singer, and a woman who’s lived through love, loss, and the quiet courage of asking for support. 🎹

When Joan’s husband passed, she didn’t just lose a partner, she lost the rhythm of her days. But what she found next was something powerful: a community that reminded her she didn’t have to face it all alone.

This is a story about music, grief, and rediscovering independence with the help of Mark & Sylvie's Home Care. It’s proof that even in our hardest seasons, connection brings us back to ourselves.

Because the stories we share are what make us feel human again.

🎙️ New Episode: The Power of Making Something with Your Hands

Creativity isn’t just about art, it’s about connection.

It’s how we slow down, make sense of the world, and remind ourselves we’re still capable of creating something beautiful out of nothing.

In this episode of the U3A Hastings Podcast on Radio Western Port, Julie and Jan sit down with Roz, their “Creative Craft Leader”, who’s proof that creativity doesn’t fade with age; it deepens.

She talks about the joy of making, the friendships formed around a shared table, and how a few threads and ideas can stitch people, and purpose, back together.

If you’ve been feeling uninspired or stuck in routine, this conversation might be the spark you need to start again, one stitch, one brushstroke, one small idea at a time.

“Silence doesn’t save lives. Conversations do.”

Episode #47 of Inspired to Soar with Hannah Radio Podcast with Hannah might be the most important conversation we’ve had yet.

Hannah sat down with Wayne Holdsworth, who lost his 17-year-old son, Mac, in October 2023. Out of the darkest pain a parent can face, Wayne created Smacktalk, a movement breaking stigma, reframing “mental health” as “mental fitness,” and showing us that listening, really listening, can be life-saving.

This episode isn’t easy. But it’s necessary. We talk about:
✨ The boy Mac was and the legacy he leaves
✨ The raw reality of grief and self-blame
✨ Why the language we use matters more than we think
✨ How communities can step up when systems fall short

Wayne’s courage to turn grief into purpose is something I’ll never forget.

And if you’re struggling right now, please, don’t do it alone. Call, on 13 11 14. Your story matters. Your life matters. 💙

🎙️ Most of us don’t think we’re “creative enough.”

But here’s the truth: creativity isn’t a gift some people are born with. It’s a muscle. And like any muscle, it grows when you put it to work.

In Episode #5 of the U3A Hastings Podcast, Julie and Janet sit down with Alison, their watercolour tutor who proves this every single day.

She shares how painting has shaped her life, the lessons she’s learned in the classroom, and the small, practical tips that can unlock your own creative spark, even if you’ve never picked up a brush.

This episode isn’t about art. It’s about reminding yourself you can create, express, and grow at any age.

Because your creativity is just waiting for permission to show up.
