It has now been more than two years since Mount Franklin was renamed Lalgambuk, with the upgraded visitor site now under the management of the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation.

The update marked a shift in how the site is presented and understood, with Dja Dja Wurrung language, design and cultural meaning brought to the foreground rather than treated as an add-on.

Chair of the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation Board, Trent Nelson, described the Lalgambuk visitor site – which features traditional Aboriginal furniture – as having been “Djaara-fied.”

“We are embedding Dja Dja Wurrung knowledge, language, and culture back into the landscape at Lalgambuk, which is a very significant place for Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung People),” he said.

“It’s really important for Djaara to see ourselves in Djandak (Dja Dja Wurrung Country). And we are proud to share our Culture and Country with others.”

Weekend windback from Hepburn Springs, where a chalk message at the electric vehicle charging station in March last year sparked a fair bit of conversation, with our post going viral across Facebook.

The words “Welcome to Cloudseeding Country” appeared at the time, and while the writing itself was temporary, the reaction to it hasn’t been.

Many locals and visitors say it reflects a growing unease about recent weather patterns across parts of Victoria, with people reporting skies that look noticeably different to what they remember.

In particular, some have pointed to aircraft trails that appear to linger and spread rather than dissipate quickly, gradually forming a thin, milky haze that softens the sky and dulls sunlight rather than behaving like conventional cloud cover.

Whether coincidence, changing atmospheric conditions, or something else entirely, the visual effect has been enough to prompt questions.

Whatever the case, the chalked message certainly highlighted a broader theme – a section of the community is paying closer attention to the sky and asking for clearer explanations about what they’re seeing.

As with many debates that sit at the intersection of environment, technology and trust, reactions range from curiosity to scepticism. For now, the message has washed away, but the conversation it tapped into clearly hasn’t.

Concerns have been raised about Hepburn Shire Council’s workplace culture, with staff reviews posted online over several years pointing to recurring issues.

Comments from current and former employees describe challenges such as high stress, communication breakdowns, councillor interference, and limited career progression.

The consistency of feedback across different roles and timeframes suggests these are not isolated incidents but long-standing cultural problems. Reviewers also highlight management instability and operational pressures that have made the workplace difficult.

These accounts raise important questions about how workplace culture impacts both staff wellbeing and service delivery to the community.

Tim O’Halloran is still pullin’ on the boots in his 40s! 🏈 Absolute madman! Works in the NT, plays footy when he’s back, no excuses, just rocks up and gets it done! 💪🏻

This week? Bitten on the clacker by a dog in Darwin 🤣 off to hospital! Back to work. Then? Shoves his hand into a pit – gets bitten by a bloody snake 🐍 straight back to hospital! 🏥

And what does he do? Flies back to Vic and helps the twos out this weekend! Bloke shouldn't even be playing. But here he is. What a legend. 🔴🔵👏

24 years ago this old rocker as a young bloke charged into a pack and split my bald head open , a couple of years later he was joint captain when I coached him in the 2006 Premiership,
19 years later he shouldn’t be playing…..
He’s now into his early 40s…
And he works in the NT and plays when he’s back in town
Over the years we’ve heard some of the best lame excuses by players not turning up to away games , or even home games , but Tim O’Halloran is the exact opposite……
As I said he shouldn’t be playing……
This week in Darwin he was bitten on the clacker by a dog 🤣🤣, off to hospital he goes,
I saw the wound but he wouldn’t let me take a photo of it ,
Back to work he goes….
A couple of days later he puts his hand into a pit searching for something……
Guess what’s lurking in the pit 🤔🤔
You would not believe it, he’s off to the hospital again…..
This time…..
Tim is bitten by a snake 🐍 😳😳
Fly’s back in to Victoria and helps fill the numbers in the twos today.
Next week can only improve
That’s pretty impressive 👏👏🔵🔴
