Radio Italiana 531 is owned and operated by members & volunteers of the South Australian Italian community and enjoys the active support of a large number of sponsors together with over 400 members, Clubs and Associations. Our listeners are loyal and passionate and come mostly from the almost 100,000 South Australians of Italian heritage. Radio Italiana 531 covers metropolitan and most regional ar

eas of South Australia via the 531am signal, and there is an ever growing audience via our digital platforms such as our app, online streaming via our website and TuneIn. Radio Italiana 531 prides itself on its volunteers, announcers, quality of production and variety of music. This mix of expertise reflects in the most professional manner, delivering the needs and wants of our diverse listening audience and ultimately promoting our language, culture and traditions. We have a strong and loyal base of over 100 volunteers, ranging from announcers, console operators, administrative staff as well as a Management Committee and other sub-committees. All decisions regarding the long term vision, sustainability and future of the Station are made by its members via an elected Management Committee. Radio Italiana 531 employs several key staff, including a General and Sales Manager, Production Manager, Accounts and Administration Officer.

In a phone interview, Professor Marinella Marmo, President of Com.It.Es. SA, updated listeners on the organisation’s key initiatives. She highlighted the importance of recognising the achievements of women in South Australia through the “Progetto Donna” awards, for which nominations are currently open. She also informed that Italians who lost their citizenship can now reacquire it by contacting the Italian Consulate in South Australia.

In the studio, Antonio Colella, President of the Anzano Club, and Rosa Anastasi, Booking Manager, shared the 49-year history of the club, originally founded as a cultural centre for migrants to preserve their heritage. The club now holds monthly lunches on the last Sunday of each month, featuring homemade pasta for $30. Bookings are essential through Rosa Anastasi. During the broadcast, the club hosted a quiz, awarding two winners a free lunch. Preparations are underway for their upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.

Quanti italiani vivono lontani dall’italia?!
Milioni, tanti quante sarebbero le storie da raccontare, tutte uniche, e certamente eccezionali da ascoltare.
ha avuto la fortuna di imbattersi in storie straordinarie di italiani nel mondo. Le loro storie lo hanno fatto viaggiare e sognare ed ha così deciso di dar voce ad alcune di esse.
Oggi vi porterà a scoprire le storie di Manuel che per vari motivi, ha deciso di lasciare il Bel Paese, come molti di noi!
Storie uniche, ma tutte con un comune divisore: l’essere lontani dalla nostra madrepatria.
